How about we call up the Dragons

They have a second rower who’s trying to get out, we have a second rower who’s trying to get out

Maybe offer Matterson for Frizzell

Dragons receive a good young player in Matterson

We receive a great player about to enter his prime in which will make our pack much stronger!

I would guess Frizzell would already have his new destination lined up!

East of the City

Only club we should allow him to move to is the Gold Coast.

Why bolster a rival Sydney club who will compete with us for a top-8 spot.

Stuff him.

Having read a recent interview with Arrow-to me he seems a bit flaky. Let's face it , his main claim to fame is that he is the best of a poor bunch that may be available.

The guy plays SOO 1 and Qld wins

Our defence will jump to another level if he comes

What would we gain from a cash settlement?? It would not help our cap situation except for Matterson’s contract money and we than have to find a replacement.
If we hand him on a plate to Parra we will be the laughing stock of the NRL

As for Moses he just went another level lower if that is possible

Could use the money to buyout a ESL contract?

It did cross my mind...lot of horse trading going on at present with all the players keeping their cards close to their chests

any transfer fee goes onto the salary cap

Nope ... unless NRL rules have changed since 2015 Burgess to Rabbits ruling.

G'day @pawsandclaws1: after reading the SMH article, I am amazed by the way things seem to be turning out so badly for Wests Tigers.

Slimy Moses went to Parra, initially didn't get along with Brad Arthur but have now been able to work things out and Moses has gone ahead exponentially.

Ryan Matterson apparently didn't get along with Arthur either and left Parra. But now... 'if reports can be believed'... they, like Moses, have worked things out.

But Matterson and Madge/Wests Tigers apparently haven't been able to work out an agreeable resolution?

If Matterson leaves, as far as I am concerned...We/ Wests Tigers have a big problem.

Because its also a money issue for him. The club probably isn't willing to upgrade him till 2021 at the earliest.

G'day @Bathursttiger2: thanks for putting a big smile on my face  :joy: :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

Agreed. Unless the trade weakens the other club more than it strengthens them, which is unlikely to happen unless they're a stupid club (so we're back to the Gold Coast).

@GNR4LIFE its a money issue for all of us ........if your not trying to find the job that will be providing the best lifestyle inside and outside the workforce for you and your family you are letting yourself and your family down as far as I'm concerned

Blame the weakening laws in the workforce as well for many of these problems

25-30 years ago I had to sign waivers /contracts to say I wouldn't go work for my competitors for a year if I left of my own accord ....now I give two weeks notice ....pffft

The game as a International whole needs to put its foot down , our club probably should've been more pro active

If the ESL and NRL stood firm on rules in these areas , players wouldn't have a foot to stand on .....piss off and play Rugby Union ...ever tried watching a game lately .....helps me sleep ....God knows what playing a game must be like these days

@tigeress Due to the poor management some of these players are receiving it will continue to happen until the NRL pull there heads out of there A***s and do something to stop it like a contract is a contract and apply penalties either to the player or club breaking the contract.

Don’t see much of a problem. We just replace a guy who had a pretty good year and wants a +$300k annual upgrade with couple of motivated young hungry and aggressive tough nuts for the same money.
There ain’t no guarantees that players who have a great breakout year will have same follow up year and then there is always ongoing head injury and attitude concerns with this player.
As far as Moses is concerned ..... please .... he is a trick pony that falls apart when chips are down.

I have a waiver on my employment, I can't work for a rival company for 12 months if I leave

the thing for us is the guy wants to leave then fine, but we don't owe any other club or player ANYTHING so we need to squeeze this to the best of our advantage rather than throw our hands in the air and just cop what comes. If that means Matterson plays reserve grade and we eat the contract then fine. He signed the deal and came to management with cap in hand going boo hoo. If he is made to honour the deal then he has no leg to stand on, and if he refuses to play then he doesn't play anywhere for the next 2 years. how would that make him look? As good as he is, it's not like Tallis holding out for the broncos.....
Ball is in the clubs court, and it will be a sign of weakness if they don't squeeze this

Yes indeed. Particularly when Madge and Pascoe said in the Q&A that he would not be released unless we get worthwhile in return. This is a major test of the club and Madge.
