Turdberg is just re writing the rules as we speak so it dosent apply to us

Just to add to this also... I'm a staunch supporter of Madge, but I seriously can't believe how he could spray a player like Matterson to the point where he's wanting to leave, while Jennings is still around this club! And he bloody signed him!
If true, the modern day player needs to harden up and grow thick skin

I find this hard to believe. Reports (aka POM) suggest he was a big factor in Josh Aloiai re-signing with us. If he were to leave, I would straight up cry and possibly give up.

@happy_tiger The club needs kindness after what it has to put up.

The club needs to be repeatedly kicked in the jatz crackers if we lose Matterson

probably just grubby media trying to de-rail our season........

Yep he was the first to report on the Ivan Cleary situation.

Not sure why Madge would choose Matterson to spray out of that whole team... Also, Matterson deciding to up it and leave after one season just because of some words is a joke (if true). Really hope he stays and all is resolved. Can't bear to see the likes of Tedesco, Addo-Carr, Papenhuyzen, Taupau, AND Matterson running around in the NRL while we have the likes of Jennings and co.

Get used to it bus driver, we are merely a feeder club for the more desirable clubs....its just the way we are nothing will ever change unfortunately

Forever a banter club

Surely the fans deserve an explanation

I know these things can be delicate for the club to deal with but tigers fans are sick of this crsp

Absolutely sick of it

And if it's true and matto didn't like what was said than he needs to toughen up a bit

We can't just keep changing coaches to please players or losing players cos they don't like coaches

But this is what the NRL has come to

What a crap and poorly run organization the NRL is

I have stated I other threads that this Maguire worries me, call me sceptical, I didn't like Cleary, and we all know how that ended, I dont like this bloke either....I have a very close personal friendship with a current players mum, and I hear a fair bit, and madge isnt as loved by the playing group as everyone thinks....haven't heard anything from her regarding this Matterson story, but my guess theres something in it

Wests Tigers star Ryan Matterson appears to be on the outer after just one season at the club, with reports indicating the star second-rower's relationship with coach Michael Maguire is on the rocks.
The 24-year old signed with the Tigers prior to the 2019 season and was arguably their best player in a campaign that saw them finish 9th once again - but things don't appear as rosey off the field.

According to senior NRL reporter Brent Read, the forward may be on the move to relieve salary cap pressure - but there are also rumours he has fallen out of favour with the coach.
MORE: Bennett confirms major changes
"There's been some stories emerge that maybe Ryan Matterson is a little bit unsettled, so the Tigers have told me for a while now that there's nothing in it," he told Sporting News.

"The Tigers have been telling me he’s staying, but where there's smoke there's fire. There's going to be some movement at the Tigers in the off-season.
"Is it Madge-related?
"Obviously they need to clear salary cap space because they've got some issues; they haven't registered Benji Marshall’s contract yet for next year.
"If they want Chris Lawrence to stay they need to make a bit of room and the names that are going around...Esan Marsters is a pretty prominent one at the moment."
The Tigers will no doubt be disappointed to miss the finals for an eighth consecutive season - and potentially losing Matterson would be another big blow.
MORE: Gutho wants it all
****But Read believes that while the talk could be that he is unhappy at Concord, the issue is more money-related than anything and the future Origin backrower feels he deserves more.
"I think a little bit probably money-related. when he signed the deal there he was basically just a regular first grader. Now he's a bloke knocking on the door of State of Origin," he told Sporting News.
"He's probably been the Tigers' best forward, so I think a little bit of it is probably money-related. He probably thinks he deserves a bit more cash and, to be honest, they're probably right.
"But they did the deal, he signed the deal and he probably has to honour it. The Tigers want to keep Ryan Matterson."****

Give him the money he deserves and move on. There's players in our cap who havent played for us in half a year going on $750k. Handle them first and then distribute our cap as it should have been

Doesn't need to be loved, not even respected necessarily, though it helps. Just needs to get results.

I can't put any stead in player complaints when we fail to make finals. The coach needs to be tough to turn around continuous failure.
