I honestly can’t see where the conflict between he and Madge would be. Madge is a tough disciplinarian coach and Matto is a tough, hard working trainer/player. I would’ve thought they would compliment each other and the slack trainers would be the ones complaining.

We really don’t need this, it’s a knife in the heart.

My guess is he doesn't want to play in the middle, he is an edge backrower, and should be playing there, he might also be questioning some of Madge's selections, as do I, along with the lack of effort some of our blokes put in when it mattered

I have stated I other threads that this Maguire worries me, call me sceptical, I didn’t like Cleary, and we all know how that ended, I dont like this bloke either…I have a very close personal friendship with a current players mum, and I hear a fair bit, and madge isnt as loved by the playing group as everyone thinks…haven’t heard anything from her regarding this Matterson story, but my guess theres something in it

I hope you are wrong because he seems to be a good coach. The reality is though we don't know do we.

Earlier in the thread it was stated that Matterson had requested to play in the middle. He is a great edge backrower but he was even better and more involved in the middle.

I’ve said this before. Sick of hearing about players not liking this or that. Over indulged, over paid spoilt brats with no grip on reality. They are living the dream ffs.
Matterson saying he is knocking on the door of SOO - because tigers gave him a go!
I’m sure there are many wonderful, professional and eager young men in the NRL but the big heads are a pain. They are also soft and ego fueled. Mate, score a try, head down and back into position - it’s called humility.

Well he's worth more now, its how we handle it from here on. I got no problem upgrading our best forward to keep him, there's no one even close to him in the club.

Well how might have this started.

I'm looking no further than the Tigers alleged pursuit of Jai Arrow, the totally overrated Titans player who supposably knock back 800k to test his value on the open market.

Matteson has to be kept at all cost, if money is that tight he get's Lawrence's 100k with a promised further upgrade based on performance for the following year.

I'm well and truly over sentimentality, I wonder how many sentimentalist's were wearing orange, black and white at Leichhardt around 3.55pm last Sunday afternoon.

@TigersBusDriver From what we have seen this sesaon. Matterson certainly is not a bludger. He probably feels unappreciated for the very good efforts he has put in. A pay rise would be a just reward and one he would appreciate.
