There are too many teams period. 16 teams spreads the talent so thinly that there is such a gap now between the top teams and bottom teams. Gone are the days of about 15 years ago where anyone could beat anyone else on their day. And its going to be even worse next year with 17 teams. And 18 when they eventually add another club. Between that and the rules these days being a joke, the game is a shadow of what it used to be. The magic is gone.

I actually think there are way too many Sydney teams. Makes sense to merge with the bulldogs and have a super south west Sydney team.

Teams aren’t the issue.

The game would probably run better if there was a bigger bench with more interchanges.

Also giving young guys a chance to showcase their skills, instead of being stuck behind old “faithful” Clubmen.
