Controversy Surrounding Souths V Bulldogs Ref. Decision

No problem with the ruling, penalty for mine. You simply can't take out the legs of a kicker, and rightly so.

I think it was the right call. I believe for a charge down you aren't allowed to dive it make contact.

Ok i will spell out.

I am justifying them getting angry.

Committing a criminal act on the back of that anger is an individuals choice based on his or hers morals and not something i go anywhere near justifying in my post.

As you well know!

Now leave it alone and stop trying to get under peoples skin.

Go read a book or something.

Whose skin am i trying to get under? I'm just trying to tell you how something you said came across

Surely you aren't that precious.

What's gives those dogs fans the right to think they can chuck objects at the referee/human beings. On a supposedly religious weekend.. absolute grubs. Lost all respect for the dogs team/club. I would be spewing if tiger fans acted like that…

Got a feeling that it isn't a religious weekend for them.

Haha (oops)

There are just three of the media headlines following today's controversial match;

1\. Match officials injured avoiding bottles thrown by Bulldogs fans after controversial loss

2\. Canterbury Bulldogs fans facing life bans for throwing bottles at match officials

3\. Adam Reynolds out for up to five months with knee injury after Rabbitohs’ win over Bulldogs

What strikes me is that last week when the game was close at the end and in golden point the refs swallowed the whistle eg goal line knock on off kick off / Moses taken out on chip chase etc. yet this week the were more than happy to intervene. Eg Reynolds penalty goal then last penalty.

The other unlucky thing for the tigers is we faced souths full strength. Other teams that we are in a fight for around the lower part of the eight will meet a busted souths. What was normally a lose now very winable.

Word coming through that Josh Reynolds threw a kicking tee at Adam as Adam was limping back into position. Dog act if true.

He's fast becoming the biggest grub in the NRL, overtaking such luminaries as Bird, Gallen, Matai, Myles and Ennis.

It wasn't intentional , they had two balls and two tees and he was hurriedly trying to throw it off field

He ends up kicking it off the field

I think the game blew up because it was a controversial decision that determined the result of the game, following a couple of other dubious decisions, ie the Inglis bad play the ball on the fifth tackle, and Graham penalised for holding on too long( I think - he seems to get penalised for blinking) leading to a penalty equalising the score. It seems that Inglis just has to put his hands in the air and the referee blows the whistle. Hate it when I feel the best team loses, especially when there is more than one dubious call against them. Not a fan of either team and not a person who studies the technicalities of the rule book - but my feeling was that the Bulldogs got ripped off today through penalties at crucial times that were given at the discretion of the ref. What happened following the game was disgraceful, and cant be condoned under any circumstance. Glad I am not a Bulldog supporter, especially today.

Souths get the discretion of refs penalties every week, that other teams don't,been happening for 2 years now.
How the 2 refs and touchie missed Millard pushing Morris over off the short kick off right on fulltime is a classic example, any other team would have been penalised and Hodkinson would have had a shot at goal to win the game.

I think from now on Canterbury supporters should be placed in a caged area much like what they have for English soccer.

Right call, unfortunately for the refs. Commentators carrying on without knowing the rules doesn't help either.
Inglis dropped it cold but the Dogs were lucky the refs only sat Klemmer. Half the team deserved to go, Graham needs a serious look at the way he was carrying on, and the penalty kick shouldn't have been taken until all the players were onside, or keep awarding penalties.
Messy end to a sloppy, but entertaining game. Very low acts by some very low people claiming to be fans.

Refs will feel intimidated reffing Bulldogs games in the future

Other teams will pay the price

I think if any team has three crowd indiscretions in a season , the clubs fans are banned from away games

But yeah it was very controversial.

I was actually rooting for the Dogs as I can't stand the souffs scum , but yeah it was the worst refereed game I've seen in a long time !

I can't stand any of the 2 now . But James Graham English Accent added to my laughs when he was going off.

Lol, I can't take him seriously either with that accent FT

The biggest question is, will the Canterbury supporters trash the trains on the way home?

Being a Bulldogs game, i expect there would be a lot of visible police and security in the train and train station.

**Did Graham break the laws of the game by diving in the way of the kick?**
No. Section 15 also covers this in the footnotes. Referring to this (http://i.imgur.com/BYqqhXg.png) section of the laws, and a still of Graham diving for the kick (http://i.imgur.com/ryWvkLD.png) , Graham clearly falls under the first category of the law book. He was already well into the dive before the ball left Reynolds' boot.

case closed

Although not condoning the actions of some players and supporters of the bulldogs, the fact is that referees seem hellbent on giving souths the benefit of marginal decisions week in week out.Like Manchester United in the English premiership they get penalties other teams don't and its hardly surprising that it leads to anger and frustration.
