Have the dogs let him go aswell or just deregistered by the NRL.

If he has been de-registered, he has by default been let go by the Dogs.

They've stated they will offer counselling to him an Okunbor in line with welfare guidelines, but yeah their careers in the short to medium term are over, and in Okunbor's case especially, it might be permanent.

Easy to de-register them for 12 months with the game offline too, I would hope the NRL has stipulated this de-registering is contingent upon the game resuming.

I wonder if CHN's punishment would have been the same if Okunbor hadn't done what he'd done. I believe CHN was not aware the girl was from a school he visited, even if he may have known she was school-age, he met her at a nightclub and did not set that meeting up.

Then banging a teacher, there's nothing wrong with that at all apart from his club probably not being appreciative of CHN's member doing a lot of the talking during the trip. I bet everyone has at least 1 teacher they would like to have banged as a young lad or ladette.

It depends I guess on whether he continued on after knowing her age

I can remember many , many years ago as an 18 year old in a nightclub meeting a beautiful girl ...fortunately before going too far I find out she was only 14

No chance I would have thought she was 14 .....

She was 17 so the age isn't so relevant, it's the fact she was a school person and whether or not he'd been to that school.

I would expect that very many school-age girls, up to and including 18, have slept with footballers over the decades.

Still you should be walking away if she is at high school

My point was sometimes it is almost impossible to tell the age of someone ....my daughter is just 13 and almost 6 foot ...you put some make up on here and she could be easily mistaken as an 18 year old

This was the point I was making earlier in the thread that girls and guys get fake IDs made up and get into licensed premises all the time...I have confiscated many in my time, however the point Iam making and Iam NOT sticking up for the 2 players, but why would a school girl want to be in a club drinking and socialising and meeting people like the guys if not to try and hook up ..the girls or anyone could have said NO at any time...immaturity and stupidity combined ...the girls were out for a good time unfortunately these 2 players didn't have the fortitude to also say no...

And the scary thing it works the other way ....I've seen women who look 16 that are in their early 30's

Two. Mrs G. And Ms P

You never can tell.

I met a girl who was sitting with her friend (also a girl) at midday in the outside area of a pub when I was (only) 19. I didn't buy her a drink but I gave her a smoke. She looked about 16 or 17. After a while she said 'Guess how old I am?' And I thought, Ah, she's either young wanting to be old or old wanting to be young. I thought 17 was a safe answer, shouldn't offend either way. 'No', she said, I'm 12!! I was shocked and then she said 'It's okay, my friend here is 13'... 'No more smokes for you', I said. She laughed and said 'That's okay, I have my own anyway.'

The issue is the Bulldogs were to be role models representative of the new professional NRL. The behaviour confirmed things hadn't changed much, just another case of NRL players boorish behaviour. This is disappointing and regardless of legality the NRL had to act decisively.![alt text.

He deserves some" punishment" but on a scale of offences vs some of our other signings...?
Weve gotta be careful we don't end up with a teamful of shady characters which wld jeopardise any family image pretences we may harbor...
..but Id sign him in a heartbeat!
Hes one of my top 5 backrowers in the comp...and currently we have a bunch of marginal and/or aging players in these positions who will never get us into the top 4.
Only caveat was why he chose bulldogs over WT in the first place as we were definitely interested and had links thru Madge

I’d sign him if he showed the right attitude and proves he’s learned from his mistakes. Let’s not forget he never went to the school and talked to the girl there.

Our club has taken in Russell Packer and Zane Musgrove so CHN wouldn’t be a big issue for them I feel as long as he shows he’s changed like the others have. He’s a very good player.

We did take on those players, but not a day after they were stood down. Packer was in jail and was rehaibiiated, and got himself a degree. Again, it doesn”t matter what our club would do cos the NRL deregistered him. He’d be the absolute last thing on the club’s mind atm.

Yeah I wouldn’t be rushing to sign the bloke ASAP. Let him do what Packer did and do stuff outside of footy and prove to the NRL he’s ready to come back, that’s the only way his contract will be re-registered.

I could be wrong but from what i can remember the NRL didnt let us register him in the first place. These 2 dopes had existing contracts which the NRL deregistered.

I don’t think he has a contract de-registered but they refused to register his contract until the court stuff had finished

these two are clearly grubs with no thought process whatsoever....

good riddance to them.

But did he meet her at a nightclub, because if he met this girl at a night club, does that mean she was alluding to be over the age of 18

Did she have fake Id

Was she actually in the club ? Under age

If so the nightclub owners/ manager have something to answer to as well

If this is the case, should Corey have be deregistered, or just fined and suspended
If he knew 100% she was a school girl, under 18 years of age and in a Night club, and arranged the meeting then that looks bad

But guess what, he hasn't done anything illegal.
I don't like it at all but it's not illegal

So we are back to It just doesn't look good And that I believe is why he is deregistered

No assault was made
I don't know of a complaint but could be wrong

We don't know the exact details and never will
If Corey believes he is hard done by he will fight the decision

For what it's worth
I wouldn't want him at our club

I would like to know the girls story of event's but that won't be made public
