What's the situation with Boyd and Bird at a park today ......

Seems to be a nothing story. Lots of comments on twitter saying so - nothing story.

They met in a park, were sitting at a bench and had some photos taken of them. Some claiming that isn't breaking the rules, 2 people meeting like that. Mentions of Boyd meeting Bird as a mental health mentor. And all a few hours before restrictions were apparently lifted anyway?

I can't see anyone making a big deal about it, so I guess it's nothing.

The fines just keep on coming for troubled Melbourne Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr.

On Tuesday while he was driving home to Sydney from his Taree camping trip, Addo-Carr got pinched by Highway Patrol for speeding on the Pacific Highway near Nabiac.

We’re told he was between 10 and 20km/h over the limit. Hard to believe, but true.

This follows the $1000 fine on Monday for failing to comply with social-distancing laws; a $50,000 fine from the NRL on Tuesday for the breach ($30,000 suspended) — as well as being charged with a firearms offence on Tuesday afternoon.

It’s was a shocking few days for the representative winger, who is now struggling to keep his place in both the NSW State of Origin team and the Kangaroos after losing the confidence and respect of his Blues coach Brad Fittler and Australian coach Mal Meninga.

Still, Melbourne Storm are standing by him. Your columnist spoke to Craig Bellamy on Thursday, who vowed to support the winger.

“What I can’t work out is that if you knew you were doing the wrong thing, there’s no way you’d put a photo out on social media,” Bellamy said. “The rules have been pushed hard but it’s like he didn’t understand the importance.”

Nothing to argue about V’landys. People already hailing him as a great leader when he hasn’t done anything yet. Not rubbishing the bloke but it’s extremely premature to say he’s been doing a good job considering he’s done very little. I was disappointed at the weak punishments those stupid players got

What I will say about PVL is he seems to be ahead of the curve each time.

ARLC advises return dates for training and comp, and PVL says Warriors are getting transit exemption. He also says he expects the domestic teams to be able to travel. The PM, Border Control and QLD Premier all respond by saying "that isn't so and perhaps a bit premature", but lo, it happens days later.

It's like calling the ball and pocket when playing your pool shot - PVL seems to have a knack of calling the shot even perhaps before it's official, but he's ahead of the curve.

You’re right there’s still a million things to be sorted. NRL wants players getting the flu needle but some of them are anti-vaxxers, just another issue they’re having
