God that looks dire. Not exactly luxurious facilities. I know its temporary but good luck attracting new players to that.

Well one could never say having there set up under a 70 year old grandstand was luxurious ...if any thing this is an upgrade ! At least it’s new.

Wasnt Concord built for the first Rugby World Cup in the 80's?

Via Wikipedia

Concord Oval in its present form was constructed between 1984 and 1987 to become the home of Rugby union in Sydney[3] and subsequently the redeveloped venue hosted games in the 1987 Rugby World Cup.

The stadium also hosted four first grade rugby league matches, three of them in 1994 as Canterbury's second home ground during that season.

Don’t think it’s because he’s religious, his wife is just a moronic anti vaxxer. What religion doesn’t allow for the flu shot?

I think Seventh Day Adventists dont, they are not supposed to have a blood transfusion even. Mormons? I think lots of Mormons amongst the polynesians.

Fair enough

However having the biggest centre of excellence in the NRL is a great way to attract players. I think I heard Pascoe said it’s only gonna be a year and a half to two years until it’s built.

Hmmm..Note the date and time of this article...So no agreement has been reached yet on the Broadcast deal for the remainder of this season..so therefor the NRL can not guarantee players what they will be paid past May...

Yet here they all are back in training...

They’ve agreed to an 80% pay cut. Hopefully V’landys gets a good deal otherwise it might be more money troubles for the NRL.

Maybe but Gladys has said she doesn’t want community projects like this being stopped at all. As far as I know they haven’t stopped working on it at all. Probably a bit of a delay but nothing massive hopefully, all depends on what happens in the future

im not sure

the article just states that both him and his wife are both avid anti vaxxers and are not shy about there opinions about it

We have many anti vaccers out there , more proof to my mate @gallagher that every step along this line is going to be a fight with one of the parties who has something to win or lose

They mentioned last night on the live Fox show (Brent Read ) that the draw had been sent back to the drawing board as well

That's why they gave themselves 7 weeks. You naively thought it would be all sorted in 1 week.

I would expect COVID to blow that out a bit

I am just about to start a house build. It's been quoted at 28 weeks, without COVID restrictions. Apparently trades will be permitted to work around the clock though due to distancing rules and the like, so they don't expect it to incur a huge delay.

I imagine that while a larger scale, it would be relatively similar outcomes. Loud works will probably take place during the day, quieter works at night.

This is interesting. I wonder what players we won’t be bringing to training for the time being. Jacob Liddle and Packer could miss out but there’s still too many, probably means a development player might miss out. Hopefully that 32 player rule isn’t for all season

I just hope that V'landys has a reason to offer 80% of normal salary to players.
If he's really smart, he might have a broadcast back-up waiting in the wings who has already agreed to pay this amount if 9 won't??
