With crowds limited to 500 why dont the NRL look at offering 400 tickets @ $100 each to anyone prepared to pay this would generate $320000 per round whilst these limitations are in place this money could be donate to the bush fires or the grass roots of the game. You wouldn't even notice 400 people spread around at most grounds Just a thought
Maybe even a members ballot

Nothing against the Warriors but this might be an opportune time to dissolve them out of the NRL, they offer absolutely nothing to the game in all seriousness. The 6 or 7 first-grade standard players they have could be offered up to the bottom 6 or 7 clubs from last season or something. RTS at WT would fit in nicely.

Great thinking. I mean, it must be only, what, a quarter of NRL players that come from New Zealand. Let's leave young Kiwis with no team in the comp, it's not like there's any other rugby code over there they'd be tempted to try.

Edit: plus, as Tigers fans maybe we ought to be a little cautious about suggesting teams get pruned from the NRL based on what they supposedly offer. The Warriors were in a grand final in 2011 and last played finals in 2018. Not sure what metric you're using to determine that they "offer absolutely nothing" but they sure seem to perform better than we do.

Thanks. Now I'm thinking of the 2011 final again. Why didnt you catch it Lote

and a few brain explosions from Marshall, Farah, and Moltzen :white_frowning_face:

Officials and players with their friends and family will likely make up most of that 500.

A quarter of NRL players come from NZ? Aahh I see, you're using the same thinking that allowed blokes such as Tonie Carroll to play for QLD, NZ and Australia. Good one.
A quarter or more NRL players are Polynesian, not New Zealanders.
Warriors "perform better than WT do" might be a subjective argument. They have been by and large a Kiwi Test side yet they haven't won a premiership.
I wouldn't trade our squad for theirs at the moment either just quietly.

Gearing up to make full-time NRL games a reality, apparently, looking likely to do each few months of the regular season in isolation (or at one specific location, on a lockdown) with a 3/4 weeks break running straight down the middle.

Finals to be played closer to Christmas.... seems the only way to go forward without revenue from gates, of course people will be invited to attend special events like SOO - if it isn’t canned (wow?) and players’ families are most definitely being included into calculations or thought process.

I believe it was @tiger_steve who said “Scary times” and whilst in my heart I do agree.

These new rumours surround the plan of action for what could be remembered as Corona Cup.

My head says to get excited!

When will the NRL:
1) play in empty stadiums
2) suspend the season

??

NRL cannot be serious to ask for financial help when our country struggle with hospital beds/respirators, drought, and fire affected households!:-1: :rage:

I for one think what the Warriors are doing is noble. Who knows how long they’ll be away from home. Deserve a lot more than their place in the comp questioned. Btw, they’re owned by a millionaire. Good luck kicking them out.

Would be a great moment if they beat the raiders this weekend

You do understand that the NRL is a business like any other .... from admin staff/trainers /medical staff ect ect these people are tax payers like everybody else and are employees ... There is to much emphasis on the players but they are only one part of the organisation which is a Business!
So in your view these staff members do not deserve what other employees in other businesses will be entitled to !!!

LATEST: NRL CEO Todd Greenberg has met with Players Association GM Clint Newton. Newton says players are prepared to participate in a “lockdown” if it helps the game. @9NewsSyd @NRLonNine

Foxtel to offer new customers Kayo subscriptions for all NRL games with a % going to public health initiatives and a % to clubs..... 🙂face_palm: )

Yeah I was all along King Georges Rd today from Beverly Hills to pacific hwy.
I'm hoping off the main road around here it's still cheaper.

I go unsuccessfully to the flight centre office to enquire about our $2k worth of flight tickets ... No refund even though govt says don't go OS. Credit only... What crap this is... Anyway going up the escalator and I'm watching a bloke in his 60 manning a pop up shop selling gardening tools, secateurs etc... I watch him cough then blow his nose into a hanky, wipe nose, pocket hanky, go into a cupboard remove a packet of secateurs, remove from plastic packaging and place on his counter along with all his other goods crawling with germs and disease.... You can't touch anything now

I don't see why anyone gets angry. Each and every person is going to look after their own turf when it comes to employment and business. V'Landys is LITERALLY employed to ensure the financial well-being of the NRL, which includes trying to get govt funding. He got a good chunk of funding for Racing NSW during the equine flu. Of course he's going to put his hand out, he would be lacking in his duty not to do so.

V'landy's on the news now..

Aim to play the Entire season inc finals and Origin..Season will continue

Players advised to self isolate with strict protocols in place...

Yeah just listened. I really like Peter V’landys, I’m so glad he is now chairman.
