Hmmm..Note the date and time of this article...So no agreement has been reached yet on the Broadcast deal for the remainder of this season..so therefor the NRL can not guarantee players what they will be paid past May...

Yet here they all are back in training...

They’ve agreed to an 80% pay cut. Hopefully V’landys gets a good deal otherwise it might be more money troubles for the NRL.

Cammy not happy..

He's just realised he won't be getting anymore free gifts from toddy

Yeah no freebies from the NRL but maybe Ashley and Martin. I thought his hair was much thinner than that picture.

God that looks dire. Not exactly luxurious facilities. I know its temporary but good luck attracting new players to that.

However having the biggest centre of excellence in the NRL is a great way to attract players. I think I heard Pascoe said it’s only gonna be a year and a half to two years until it’s built.

I would expect COVID to blow that out a bit

I am just about to start a house build. It's been quoted at 28 weeks, without COVID restrictions. Apparently trades will be permitted to work around the clock though due to distancing rules and the like, so they don't expect it to incur a huge delay.

I imagine that while a larger scale, it would be relatively similar outcomes. Loud works will probably take place during the day, quieter works at night.

Father in law is currently building. He is now 4months in front because of the virus. He doesn't have to wait for trades. Running the build himself on a rural block

The RLPA also confirmed the players had agreed to a pay deal which will see players guaranteed 80 per cent of their contracted payments for the 2020 season.

RLPA chief executive Clint Newton said the players were committed to the May 28 start date.

"Our players are committed to bringing our sport back to the community. They have been asked to step up during these unprecedented times and their response shows their persistence and resilience," he said.

"The induction day yesterday was very important. Like many in our community, players will have changed domestic arrangements and an added weight of responsibility with time away from family and reduced payments - but one thing that won't be impacted is their effort on the field and their commitment to the game and its fans."

This is from NRL.com just released. Seems like everything has been agreed upon and now training will start. Good news for everyone

That's positive. I hope to be in early-mid Jan.

Depending on what's happening the virus might taper things off for the building industry so they may be able to focus on fewer builds.

Just over 3 weeks till the proposed restart and still no draw. Presuming all games are played out of NSW at one or two grounds, why not make the draw a mystery. Teams don’t know who they’re playing each week till Monday. Why the hell not.

There's no crowds or corporate sponsor boxes to consider, so yeah why not.

That would be very innovative, it would be a real drawcard. Imagine the fun the media outlets could have with that, drumming up more advertising, worth extra money in the agreement with them imo.

Only downside would be teams on Monday wouldn’t know if they have a 3 or 6 day prep. Everyone would be in the same boat. It would probably be a logistical nightmare, but it’s a great idea in theory.

Seriously, Todd was like a juggernaut... at weighing us down. Can definitely see something like this on the agenda soon, at least something that is purely for the fun of fans again and leaves players (love to play footy) sticking to playing - probable side effects: less scandals.

I don't think they are all playing out of NSW.

In an interview on his club's website, Raiders boss Don Furner - a member of the Project Apollo committee - suggested a revised draw for the remaining 18 rounds could be finalised as early as this Friday.
https://www.raiders.com.au/news/2020/05/01/behind-the-limelight-don-furner-provides-update/

The May 28 resumption got another boost today with the NRL and RLPA agreeing to a play deal for the players which will see them receive 80% of their 2020 contracted payments. Teams will resume training tomorrow officially - in compliance with the National Principles for the Resumption of Sport and Recreation Activities Guidelines.

Maybe he just found out they have been banned from Albury lol. They will still be training in Albury, just at private facilities owned by the local AFL side.

Genuinely not following the point.

Haven’t been on here much as work is flogging me at present so this may not be news but I heard today our first game will be against Parra on the Monday 1st June

That is a similar theme to how the NRL judiciary operates. Mystery.

Commission was given update on broadcast talks tonight. Further talks to be held this week. @aus_sport understands the NRL is open to a 5-year extension. Would take deal with 9 and Foxtel thru until the end of 2027
