Any player if they can provide medical grounds to not receive the Flu shot..can play..as long as they sign a waiver...personal grounds however will not get an exemption..

A small % of people do have an adverse reaction to the shot...you are warned of this by your doctor before the injection...

Did he contract autism or did he get chills or a red lump at the injection site. Exactly what reactions is he concerned about?

You'd have to ask Bryce....but from experience a teacher I know a few years ago had a flu shot an had an extreme allergic reaction similar to anaphylaxis..throat swelled trouble breathing ambo's were called..safe to say she hasn't had one since..

And that's fair enough? Same goes for the immunocompromised... But these halfwits who reject on the "Me dids me innernets research" basis are just fools. Same fools who line the pockets and share memes of charlatans like David Avocado Wolfe.

Cartwright is dumber than a bag of rocks so even if there were any adverse cognitive effects he wouldn't be any worse off anyway.

He has a doctors certificate

Does it say anything about him being unable to tackle?

Yeah torn heartilige

Just thinking about it, squad depth is going to be so important this year. Any time someone has a runny nose or a sore throat they probably won’t be playing, clubs will be using more players this season than any other season possibly.

Hopefully the backup players we have can do a good enough job

Even more so if those backups are not playing games.

Few more coaches this week pushing for hybrid games for those outside the 18 each week.

Fingers crossed that occurs, hopefully televised as well.

Courier Mail's @badel_cmail reports the ARLC has 'rubber-stamped' the revised #NRL broadcast deal, ensuring the game's future for the coming 3 seasons.

While @FOXSportsAUS are interested in an extension as far as 2027, it looks as though @Channel9 are only looking at 2022.

There’s been much debate about the future of the NRL digital operation in the latest broadcast renegotiation, but it appears the governing body has retained the streaming rights into the future. Foxtel and Nine had been agitating for change in fear of the code producing its own games in the future, but the NRL held firm.

‘‘Digital is unchanged, other than we are going to work with our two broadcast partners,’’ V’landys said. ‘‘We are not going into competition with them. There will be a content-sharing arrangement and we will promote the broadcasters. It’s a vehicle to complement the two broadcasters. It’s no good selling your lunch to them and then eating it yourself.’’

Expansion not dead
The NRL has deferred discussions about expansion but has left the door open for a second team in Brisbane in the near future despite agreeing to a new broadcast deal. ‘‘We’re still looking at a second team in Brisbane, but naturally it’s going to be a lot harder now,’’ ARLC chairman Peter V’landys said. ‘‘It will only happen if there’s a pretty solid business case to back it up. We don’t want any cannibalisation of existing revenues for the Titans and Broncos. The broadcasters are fine with us adding a team when we deem the time is right.’’

No, we wouldn't want to upset the Broncos in any way?. Heaven forbid!

Giving Nine and Foxtel access to the NRL’s digital arm isn’t a good move. Should’ve told them to stop whining about it and improve the quality of their broadcasts if they’re that worried about it

- CSL Behring has launched a clinical trial into the use of CSL312 (garadacimab, Factor XIIa antagonist monoclonal antibody) to treat patients suffering from severe respiratory distress, a leading cause of death in patients with COVID-19 related pneumonia. A Phase 2 study to assess the safety and efficacy of the potential treatment has completed enrollment and results are expected in the second quarter of 2021.
- Seqirus has donated its well-established adjuvant technology – MF59® – to the vaccine efforts of multiple entities, including the University of Queensland vaccine development program. MF59® is used in the company’s adjuvanted seasonal flu vaccine for the over-65 age group -- one of the most vulnerable populations to COVID-19. Adjuvants can help improve immune response and reduce the amount of antigen needed for each vaccine, enabling more doses to be manufactured more rapidly. In parallel, Seqirus remains focused on the production of seasonal influenza vaccines, the importance of which is very much underscored by the COVID-19 pandemic.
- CSL Behring is partnering with SAB Biotherapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, to advance and deliver a novel immunotherapy targeting COVID-19. The potential therapy would be produced without the need for blood plasma donations from recovered COVID-19 patients. A Phase 1 clinical trial is ongoing.
CSL is evaluating additional assets in its portfolio and partnerships with external researchers for potential use in the fight against COVID-19.
- CSL Behring co-founded the CoVIg-19 Plasma Alliance, an unprecedented industry of 11 plasma companies across 13+ countries and five continents, to develop a potential plasma-derived hyperimmune therapy for treating COVID-19. The one-year collaboration concluded in April 2021 after a Phase 3 clinical trial of the potential therapy did not meet its endpoints. More information is available here. In addition, CSL’s work on an Australian hyperimmune, which was dependent on positive data, has also been discontinued.
- In 2020, CSL worked with the University of Queensland in the early stages of its UQ-CSL v451 COVID-19 vaccine candidate. A Phase 1 clinical trial showed that the vaccine elicited a robust response towards the virus and has a strong safety profile. However, following consultation with the Australian Government, CSL did not progress the vaccine candidate to Phase 2/3 clinical trials. More information is available here.

Additionally, from the time the coronavirus was first identified in Wuhan, China – where CSL Behring has a manufacturing facility – the company has been assisting in the fight against COVID-19 in a number of ways including offering expertise, technologies, equipment and materials on a humanitarian basis.
