China Being Sued for 20 Trill

US probably just looking for cash to pay off their debts.

Don't blame them to be honest. If China withheld it from the world and allowed diseased citizens to leave the country, there should be certainly some sort of reparations.

I have to agree CB,if someone does an injustice to someone else they can litigate or sue for compensation...Not turning this into a China hate thread ..only pointing out that on a global scale they also have a duty of care to their own people and to people who visit their country...I would say in a normal court of law they could be found negligent and in breach of their duty of care,,,

Can I ask this ....

How would they have known early on it was any different from any flu season

It is quite similar in many ways ...with the amount of people coming and going from China by the time they knew it was too late

Haters got to hate I guess

Happy, the CCP arrested and detained the doctors who first reported this as a new virus. The CCP broke into the research lab that first identified the virus as a new virus and destroyed the vials (Sun Yang style) (Source Washington Post & London Times). In december the CCP officially notified the WHO that there were no human to human cases.

Thank you!

If people want to read a CCP propaganda mill, may I suggest moving themselves over to the Beijing Daily or similar state run publications. You can swallow all the lies you can handle over there.

What about the Spanish Flu ..it started in Kansas and killed somewhere between 25 000 000 and 40 000 000

Did the rest of the world take action v the USA

Have the Americans taken ownership or paid any reparations ....

Oh that's right ... this country is Red ....

Stop living in the past mate ...

I'm not ...I just get so sick of Americans living above the rest of the world

As I say America seems a beautiful place ...just a shame so many Americans live there

Have you been to America?

Overall, they're a pretty friendly bunch of people.

Just the twits I've dealt with here

No hurry to get there either

The only decent Americans I have met are in the Armed Forces ..general public I rate the Yanks with the French as aloof assholes

And don't disagree with the comments in how some Australians behave either overseas

RACIST!!!!!!

Yep totally .....hate tools of every nationality

Obviously you do not now much about Americans. .. if ever a country was living above any other .. well Your living in it .
Americans work hard to earn there $$ there basic wage is garbage . If you want to talk about how the general American population live .. There courteous, polite and driving there is the only time I enjoy drive as courtesy extends to there roads , go shopping there mate and you will find out what service is . The saying loud mouth Americans well the worst population on the planet travelling are Aussies there an embarrassment! I do not know how many times I have had to not open my mouth and leave places all over the world because of self entitled Aussies loud mouthing!

Yep, I've told people I'm Kiwi or South African in other parts of the world because I've seen Australians acting like total spanners. We are bar none the worst tourists in the world.

Except you me n Snake..

I tend to agree though .....America in general was fantastic ...the people there are lovely...through Europe tho I've found German's are wankers... and Asians extremely pushy but when you have been to Asian counties you understand why ...you don't push into line you get left behind,,

Yeah I found that in Honkers. Japan was extremely orderly though.

I try to be extremely courteous in foreign countries. First four phrases I learn in any language are please, thank you, excuse me and I'm sorry.

Where in JP did you go?

There's a phrase in Japanese called honne tatemae 本音 which is pretty interesting.

Just did Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. It was only a 12 day trip and we had our three year old (at the time,) with us so it had to be a short one. Next time we go back we're planning on spending longer and venturing to other areas. There is heaps of places I want to go that are outside of the usual metropolis areas.

In saying that, I love the place, my favourite destination so far (I had high expectations as it is one of the three places on my bucket list.)

Awesome CB, 12 days is more than enough for JP imo. JR pass gets you everywhere in no time. Which city was your favourite? I'm not a fan of Tokyo tbh

Liked Tokyo and Osaka, but loved Kyoto, I've always wanted to go to Kyoto since I was a little fella. Took Shinkansen quite a bit. Great bit of engineering prowess there.

Went to Arashiyama, Sogenchi Gardens, Fushimi Inari, got around the central district a bit, the Imperial palace (we only had four nights to spend in Kyoto/Osaka so we spent two days in each.)

Osaka was cool too. The Shinsaibashi shopping strip was nuts, we stayed just on Dotonbori so we got to see the city in all it's glory at night, went to Osaka-jo as well, even though it wasn't the original build it's still a beautiful castle. Crazy place, great eats there too, even if you're like me and can't eat seafood/fish.

Tokyo was great too, plenty to offer in terms of variety. Something for everyone there. Highlight was going to the samurai museum. They have the armor of past shogun there. The craftsmanship of their armor and swords was phenomenal.

I have met many, many people of different cultures and nationalities over the years working in hospitality and tourism many through the hotel industry...I found if you conversed with them and got to understand them and their way of life in their own countries, then most of them were willing to learn and understand ours..The one main thing I learnt was that they are all human beings with their our differing characters.

Treat them as human beings civilly as you would like to be treated and you find their company educational, humourous and knowledgeable.I have found arrogance in some but the majority just wanted to enjoy what we have to offer and were very receptive to being treated well..A great example comes to mind when I had my own Hotel..we had some visitors from Canada and absolutely loved our country..I shouted them dinner and drinks and told them to enjoy the rest of their trip while in Australia..
About 1 month later I get a visit from a Canadian chick who was a very good sort and I thought ..you beauty my luck had changed, however she presented me with a bottle of fine premium American blended whiskey and said my Aunty and Uncle visited you here last month on their trip to Australia and wanted me to give you this gift for extending your friendship and hospitality to them, they were very pleased that the Aussies were so endearing...just a story for you guys and girls to take in,because it doesn't take much to be a good human being irrespective of your nationality or culture...cheers..

Border Farce were hammered again for the fiasco at Kingsford Smith yesterday. It was left to our nurses to demonstrate professionalism to these Blackshirt baffoons by measuring increases in temperature of returning passengers. Guess which organisation couldn't enforce social distancing?

See I didn't mind the French either. If you made an effort to speak French to them first they were a very warm and accommodating lot. I saw other tourists while I was there not even attempt to greet them in French, and that's when they get indignant. They are very protective of their culture.

French make the Yanks look good

The only likable French person I've even seen is Henri Leconte

Flicked to 604 (Coronavirus channel ) ....Ardern expects Australia to pick up the bills for NZ workers in Australia

Short term I don't have an issue ..but long term why can't they contact NZ social services for assistance

If they are permanent/long term residents I would expect us to, as I would other countries to do the same for permanent Australian residents.

Government gearing up for "foreign entities with ties to their governments" snapping up Australian assets weakened by current economic conditions.Let us hope they are up the task.

Let's hope the Government bans future foreign ownership of land in this country
Lease ok but ownership no
And a lease like standard industrial property with a 3 x 3 or 5 x 5 year lease
Not a 99 year lease

And limits share in any company in this country to less than 49% with all taxes to be paid in this country, not taken off shore

Time to take ownership of this country and not sell it off

The U.S has now over 83 000 confirmed cases. The most of any nation in the world. If restrictions are lifted by Easter, 100 million could be infected by October, with over 1 million deaths forecast. That’s just in the U.S.

There courteous, polite and driving there is the only time I enjoy drive as courtesy extends to there roads , go shopping there mate and you will find out what service is . Yep, I've told people I'm Kiwi or South African in other parts of the world because I've seen Australians acting like total spanners. We are bar none the worst tourists in the world.

I tend to agree though .....America in general was fantastic ...the people there are lovely...through Europe tho I've found German's are wankers... and Asians extremely pushy but when you have been to Asian counties you understand why ...you don't push into line you get left behind,,

kindness and cruelty are not endemic to countries or nationalities.
I reckon the Dutch would rate very highly as kind people and down the bottom somewhere on the cruelty scale @kevinmcguinness.
But I am absolutely certain they would rate no.1 on the arrogance scale....and I feel they are proud of it.
I will never forget a funny little sign in a bakery in Woolgoolga which was run by a very nice Dutch family.
The sign said 'you can always tell a Dutchman....but you cant tell him much'.

Saffas are pretty bad as well ....they never listen and are never wrong ......and talk to you as if your the one with the speech issue

Having said that once you get to know them they seem very genuine people and their other saving grace is their love of sport , their love of banter
