It is a disgrace what some multinationals are pulling .....

The one I work for has worked out if they fully apply the 1.5 m rule they can save money in labour , yet they don't have issues with employees still handling cash and don't think gloves or masks are required or eftpos machines don't have the disposable covers /sheaths

Got to love how some Coronavirus rules are important ...others meh ....just keep trading

Maccas now selling burger buns / English muffins and 2 litre milk through the drive through ...anything to make a buck .
Friggin parasites !

I'm genuinely interested why you think this makes them parasites?

We’ll how about they donate $1 for every quarter pounder sold for Covid research or something like that instead of profiteering during a pandemic.

And I very much doubt they’re trying to offload excess stock .

They're keeping people in jobs, youth especially.

I think that's enough for the time being.

So is every other small retailer ...maccas are profiteering parasites and that’s my opinion..

And you're entitled to it.

Just a funny outlook when supermarkets are raking in off the back of hoarding to the point where they are delaying refurbishments etc so they aren't closing down parts of their stores to make more money again.

Keeping a lot of our international students @ UTS afloat too...

3 confirmed cases at my cousin's prison @Lancaster California too. Bird baths for him for the next 3 months!

And people complaining about being stuck on a ship or stuck in the house...

Anyway, back on topic, another sub-300 day yesterday for new cases.

@Tiger5150 where are you getting your data from mate, as you seem to have yours quicker than worldometer references it (I think because they refresh at 0:00 GMT+0.)

Depends if they are talking about the actual factory made stuff, or if people are knocking up their homemade metho or isopropyl alcohol based sanitisers.

I get my data from a few spots, Worldometer is one, News Ltd (https://www.news.com.au/topics/coronavirus) are a pretty good source believe it or not, they so far have been very accurate and a slight step ahead of Worldometer. In the mornings DoH is the best https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert/coronavirus-covid-19-current-situation-and-case-numbers but they only post a couple of times a day.

Also, Id be careful with using Worldometer for the number of cases in a day. Whilst their total numbers are pretty good and are accurate for at least part of the day, their new cases number always seem to be wrong (mine always correlate to DoH).

New cases last three days were 261, 312, 307. 241 so far today.

I like this link that shows the cases by cluster=Local Govt Area

https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/diseases/Pages/covid-19-lga.aspx#unknown

27 for Cambo as at 1/4 8pm

I note a high number in the Sutherland Shire...stay safe at the Lodge

Mrs was saying that Twiggy Forest has imported 10's of millions of $$$ of supplies

The bloke is legend ...

There are ulterior motives to this and he is not the only person doing it. If you are exporting freight to China, it costs a fortune if you do not have a return journey for the plane. So him, lobster farms, meat exporters etc are madly trying to find good that they can bring back that they can actually sell.

Bringing in medical supplies that are currently needed & selling them at cost to the government actually saves them money.

Yes, sanitisers need to have between 60-80% alcohol - less than that and it is Too weak and ineffective and sort of counter intuitive is that if there isn’t enough water (ie 90 or 100% alcohol) it also isn’t effective in breaking the virus capsid (shell)

I’ve got a couple of questions?
Why is everyone in China wearing masks? While WHO are telling us all do not wear a mask unless you have been infected?
Medical researchers are also investigating a third method of transmission other than an infected person sneezing/coughing in your personal space or making contact with an infected surface. It is now thought that micrometer particles can float in the air for extended periods. This theory would explain the relatively high number of cases which remain under source investigation?

I’m pleased WHO are now reviewing their recommendations regarding the wearing of masks.
Stay safe people.

Noticed how the specials from Woolies and Coles in leaflet form have dried up

I have my opinion on the masks and gloves ....how many people want to be served by someone wearing gloves and masks .....

The greed never ends

The greed? I’m only halfway through my first coffee, so you’ll need to explain that please? My feeling is, this virus is taking lives and liberties from us, some liberties we may never get back. I would gladly give up a liberty if the trade off was saving a life. I’ve had the opportunity to save a couple of lives over the years and to me, a non medico, the feeling was pretty special. I don’t really care if people wear masks, providing they remove them when going to the bank.

I’d say it shows just what influence China has on the WHO rather than any practical benefit of everyone wearing masks and gloves.
