Great social distancing on display at the Northcote Aldi store this morning. Responsibility is out the door with all shown here, especially the store's lack of management.

Sure, we as a community have done a good job, but with winter upon us, please don't throw that effort and pain out the window to save a few bucks on some cookware.

The attitude in the community was there long before the protests, so I thought that I would quote my own post from the end of May showing a Melbourne store, as it is a perfect example of why they are having issues now. I am not going to pretend that the blm protests had no effect, even though minimal, with the good majority of them wearing masks, but there were also different protests around the nation a week earlier that were virtually mask free and not targeted.

I understand that it is a convenient narrative for some to push, though to show another example, there is enough evidence out there that even though in the much safer outdoor environment, we all know which group in the situation shown below during the protest are more likely to pass on the virus.

FG, why exactly is it a "convenient narrative for some to push"? Can you please expand on *exactly* what that narrative is and please nominate who here is "pushing" that narrative?

I understand that outdoor transmission is harder, though I think people packed together in a protest is hardly a typical outdoor setting.

But I think the effect was more dissuading some of the general public from maintaining their commitment to proper social distancing. It can be hard to maintain for months at the best of times, so by June I'm sure there were plenty of people thinking, 'well if 10,000 people can go to a protest about American police, why can't I visit Nanna?'

It’s not the actual protest but the message it sent to the greater community. I would have heard the argument at least 50 times since that if it’s OK for thousands of people to gather together and protest then it’s Ok for our section of the community to gather together. Apart from the direct risk of the protests the message it sent was far more dangerous.

The narrative of the Vic Chief Medical Officer Sutton to expect more deaths is the reality. Lack of discipline will cost lives. Two Covid cases linked to the Crossroads Hotel which NSW health has ordered shut.

Hope that nobody from Victoria was in this line waiting to get into a Sydney pub last night. No responsibility at any level, so this is where we are at.

The more I see stuff like this the more I hope the virus wipes humanity out. Idiocy on parade.

what peeves me off is that lunacy like this will result in a lockdown across NSW. People in regional areas get shafted once again because of idiots in Sydney. I would hope Gladys has the cahoonies to just lockdown Sydney. Pie in the sky no doubt.

The traffic on the highway is heavy. The traffic even in Port Macquarie is extremely heavy even for school holidays. Its all tourists as most of the local roads are pretty normal. The world has gone mad.

2 cases at the Crossroads Casula and 1 in the Shire

Health Hazzard told Victorians to pack up and go home

It is an esapee from Melbourne. Some of these Vics. are so selfish.

We could all see this coming months ago.

It sounds like the 'we will fight them on the beaches' speech by the Vic Health Minister.

We still have selfish Vics travelling around NSW including that Covid positive man at Sutherland.

Its really starting to blow up now. National exponential multiplier doubled to 1.03. 300 cases yesterday. Incredible when you consider it is really only just in one state/city. Melbourne is back to the same levels as during the peak. Bravo! Nothing to do with the protests, nothing to see here...move along.

So finally the recommendation has come out that those of us living in Melbourne should be wearing masks if we do have to go out. Fair enough.

My wife has ordered some washable/reusable ones on-line. They look pretty ordinary. That kind of "grandma's underwear" pink colour. I was hoping for something with dinosaurs on it. Never mind.

Then it occurred to me. Why not Wests Tigers branded Covid 19 reusable masks? A marketing coup. You wouldn't be caught dead without one.
