Heard about Ivomectin being the best solution for Covid from an Aussie doctor about 4 months ago, he was quickly shut down. It’s not in the pharmaceutical companies best interests for everyone to use a drug that’s already so available, they must make their millions (and inflate their egos) rolling out a largely untested new vaccine.

I can’t believe they are holding back the real solution to this pandemic and playing with people’s lives in such an unprecedented time as this. It’s disgusting!

Not calling your claim either way Spud, but I would have thought it would have been in the pharma companies best interests to use an already existing available drug because there is no R&D layout? The outlay for R&D on drugs, especially one required in a hurry like the vaccine for COVID-19 would be ridiculously high. You will still distribute the drugs to any infected patients. If anything, if Ivomectin was merely a way to treat COVID-19 rather than vaccinate against it, it would be in the pharma companies best interests to push for treatment drugs rather than develop a vaccine. Virus runs rampant and you can push as many batches as you like to merely treat it rather than inoculate against it. Perpetual money spinner.

"Prevention is better than a cure" is an old saying but a true one.Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) is a possible medicine to be used after someone has contracted covid-19 in its early stages from what i have read.Vaccines which stop you from getting it are far more effective in controlling covid

Some interesting perspective on Ivomectin from a podcast I regularly listen to with two leading evolutionary biologists.

https://youtu.be/KfbBvvPVFdw?t=3764

Also skip to 1:17:02 for a very informative summary of the US Pfizer/Moderna vaccine vs the Oxford/Astra Zeneca vaccine that we are getting. By luck or good management I am VERY glad we are getting this vaccine, I am more at ease with it. I actually foresee isssues in the US because of the MASSIVE $$$ investment in the mRNA vaccine, they will be compelled to use it.

I will get it as soon as it passes Australian requirements and is available to me.

If it has gone through the TGA approval process, I can't see any reason to not get it.

I know I've put plenty of worse things in my body over the years.

All approved vaccines will be available, but the Oxford vaccine is the one the Aus Govt have purchased 53M doses, 50M of which to be manufactured in Aus by CSL.

We have also purchased 10M doses of the Pfizer vaccine.

Correct....your point?

I think the fact that they have committed to 53M of one and 10M of the other as well as establishing manufacturing onshore for one and not the other is a good indication of priority.

My point is you are claiming you are glad we are getting the oxford vaccine over the the Pfizer, we are getting both plus 51M doses of the Novavax vaccine.

Not having a personal dig at you, but these types of stories are almost always dodgy.

You've got to highly sceptical when you hear about a one-off doctor being 'shut down'.

It's far more likely that some business council lobby group that wanted to end restrictions rolled out a random bloke to milk a borderline study for all it was worth (see the facts about that one here https://www.nps.org.au/Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective)-and-covid-19)

The 'shut down' thing was most like someone like the AMA telling the bloke to pull his head in and stop pushing untested medicines.
