Heard about Ivomectin being the best solution for Covid from an Aussie doctor about 4 months ago, he was quickly shut down. It’s not in the pharmaceutical companies best interests for everyone to use a drug that’s already so available, they must make their millions (and inflate their egos) rolling out a largely untested new vaccine.

I can’t believe they are holding back the real solution to this pandemic and playing with people’s lives in such an unprecedented time as this. It’s disgusting!

Some interesting perspective on Ivomectin from a podcast I regularly listen to with two leading evolutionary biologists.

Also skip to 1:17:02 for a very informative summary of the US Pfizer/Moderna vaccine vs the Oxford/Astra Zeneca vaccine that we are getting. By luck or good management I am VERY glad we are getting this vaccine, I am more at ease with it. I actually foresee isssues in the US because of the MASSIVE $$$ investment in the mRNA vaccine, they will be compelled to use it.

I think we will have both vaccines being used in Australia.

All approved vaccines will be available, but the Oxford vaccine is the one the Aus Govt have purchased 53M doses, 50M of which to be manufactured in Aus by CSL.

We have also purchased 10M doses of the Pfizer vaccine.

Correct....your point?

I think the fact that they have committed to 53M of one and 10M of the other as well as establishing manufacturing onshore for one and not the other is a good indication of priority.

My point is you are claiming you are glad we are **getting the oxford vaccine over the the Pfizer**, we are getting both plus 51M doses of the Novavax vaccine.

I never claimed that at all.

I said I am glad we are getting the Oxford vaccine. They are not getting it in the US, they dont get that option.

I think you are looking for an argument that doesnt exist, I also think you are playing with semantics to create an argument.

I think it is extremely obvious that the Aus Govt have put their eggs in the Oxford Astra Zeneca basket. If you go to the Dept Health statement on the vaccine agreements, you notice the difference in wording. We have ***secured*** 53M doses of Oxford Astra Zeneca, whereas 10M doses of Pfizer ***will be made available*** and 51M doses of Novavax ***will be made available.***

Additionally the Aus Govt (through CSL) is making the 50M doses of Oxford Astra Zeneca. I think its pretty safe to assume that they will use the vaccine doses that they make in Australia before the ones they have to import. It also protects us from the very real possibility that Novavax and Pfizer vaccines which are made in Europe will prioritise overrun European and US markets before Australia with <100 cases.

Of the 113M doses that have either been secured or "will be available", only 10M are mRNA vaccines which was the point of my post (if you listen to the video).

So, yes, I am glad we are getting the Oxford Astra Zeneca vaccine in Australia and dont see any need to reconsider.

Yeah, I slightly misinterpreted your post, sorry about that. I read your post as being glad we were getting oxford instead of Pfizer. Wasn't trying to argue was just stating we were getting both lol.

It has been an interesting few days in the Aussie political world:

*London: Prime Minister Scott Morrison has wrongly claimed that the United Kingdom is not conducting basic safety tests on coronavirus vaccines before they are given to the public, prompting a rebuke from Britain's drug regulator.*
https://www.smh.com.au/world/europe/scott-morrison-wrongly-claims-uk-is-not-safety-testing-covid-vaccine-20210106-p56s0c.html

A few political insiders on Twitter are claiming the PM is deliberately delaying our vaccine to coincide with an early federal election.

That is a distinct possibility I wouldn’t put past Scomo from marketing.

What's happened with trumps Hydroxychloroquine (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is ineffective as has danger side-effects)?

How many Forum Members would get a jab. I am happy to have one and encourage my kids and wife to have one?

I'm mandated to get one through work. On a sidenote, no surprise to see China has blocked WHO from entering the country to begin their investigation on the origin of the virus.

I reckon he took it - it would explain the craziness of his behaviour and comments of late.

No great shock at all, expected actually.

Well they never have been so there is no reason to believe that now they would be any different.

Another possibility is that the health system reporting system is flawed? Or that more aggressive lock downs may be the reason for the low numbers? Whatever the reason is I doubt it has anything to do with Hydroxychloroquine (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is ineffective as has danger side-effects).

I am not sure that this site is as good as DZavid Icke's Reptillians, but is up there in the bat ...... crazy stakes.

I have actually found something humorous (as long as you can overlook the grammatical errors)
