Stores that will be able to stay open include supermarkets, grocery stores, butchers, bakeries, fruit and vegetable stores, liquor stores, fishmongers, stores that predominantly sell health, medical, maternity and infant supplies, pharmacies, chemists, petrol stations, car hire, banks, financial institutions, hardware, nurseries, agricultural, regional supplies, pet supplies, post offices, newsagents and office supply stores.

Officeworks and Bunnings can remain open yes.

I actually think Big W and Kmart should be allowed to remain open.

Some people may want to spend their time doing DIY at home. Hence I think Bunnings will still have customers.

People will abuse this loophole.

It should be open for emergency plumbing issues or electrical issues etc not so that some Dad can build a new deck or paint his daughter's room.

Or a pair of shoes for an essential worker etc. As they stock most types of products it would allow for those emergency purchases.

Better late than never, but not happy that lessons learnt were not implemented much, much earlier.

Going to be further monitoring of the roadways out of Sydney now as well, yeah duh, as this wasn't obvious weeks ago as well.

Worst thing about it is this massive crackdown in South west Sydney should have been done in the Eastern Suburbs to start with and we may have got a lid on it. The folks who are actually well positioned to absorb the personal economic impact of a lockdown rather than people lower down the socioeconomic ladder out west who are more likely to be living week to week.

Absolute idiocy on the part of the government.

I think a lot of today's announcements will have tradies stopping work as well.
