I dont know about u folk, but im working so many extra hours with little respite whilst in lockdown.

I cant wait to get back to the office a couple of days a week so i can move around and see my mates.

Im in lockdown in a regional area I cant work due to the premises being lockdown...I had to apply for the disaster relief because my income was cut off from the start of the lockdown...it was granted to me and money was put in my bank....
Someone said "you know its tax payers money that support these people that ""WONT WORK""...and I said get your head out of your arse and listen to what I just said..I have been FORCED out of work to comply with the Govts Covid restrictions and beside that I have worked for 47 years and paid tax each and evey year of that time...all in all I have subsidised myself over the years so when this shit happens I dont feel bad to ask for help...

SOME PEOPLE HAVE LITTLE OR NO IDEA WHAT ITS LIKE TO STRUGGLE AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF US...

Just wondering is every ones work site or office space is as divided as myn? Half of us believe in vaccines and the others believe it’s all a Bunch of nonsense and that the government are doing a terrible job I’ve got my vaccine booked in next week

Everyone one at my work is getting vaccinated with no fuss.

Yep and good luck to them....as far as I know we are still a country that has choices...vax or unvaxed ,,,we are still people who should make a choice for themselves and their families without outside peer pressure...

And they would be the same people who are up in arms when they see that the venues prioritise the vaxxed.

Mate I’ve got nothing against them I started going down the anti vax road then started doing more research and realised your far better off getting the vaccine

I find it funny, let the vaccinated roam free whilst they can still catch it and spread it to the unvaccinated. So why not open up businesses for those workers vaccinated…..

Strange way to run things….

I am pretty confident the government wants to open up everything. I think the prayer is 80% vaccination levels and there are no restrictions on the unvaccinated. The problem is putting restrictions on the unvaccinated is going to be a loaded political issue. The 80% vaccination levels may mean they don't have to make that decision.

What do you do though. The reality is the unvaccinated cost society more. How do you manage that issue.

Issue is that NSW are forcing policy decisions onto other states to burden and are talking about things opening up before 80%.

I agree would need to open up eventually but they need to be careful, from what I was told today helping out Nepean Hospital for something they have shipped kits to Westmead as there isn’t enough in the state. They think numbers are already hitting breaking point open that up to a free for all and our robust health system breaks just like Italy and other countries did.

We can’t get equipment, don’t have big enough hospitals and well can’t even get nurses in to help as international travel is slowed right down.

Anyway no point ranting as Gladys has stuffed this up in a mega royal way.

I don't believe this. They can lock their borders down if they want too. They can define their own policies if they want too.

I don't see it that way. What if she fixes it from here on in. Does she even fix it or stuff it ? Put it this way it's been stuffed way worse overseas. The next 2-3 months are going to be interesting.

This could turn around. I feel a lot more confident. I went on my daily walk and saw lots of people at Sydney Olympic Park getting vaccinated. I also saw greater compliance in relation to wearing masks outdoors.

Funny view that your colleagues have. Government doing a bad job, yet they won't step up and do their bit.

Re borders the reality is it will spread, nz flurry is from nsw, qld & vic flurry was from nsw. The issue is putting you have been vaxed rule so you can travel doesn’t stop the spread. Reason why Perth is so stable is they mandate the quarantine for 14 days regardless states

Borders the game changes when a whole state has rampant infections, people think the Vaccine is a cure it isn’t it just eases the pain if you get it. We have seen how quick nsw has caused impacts to VIC/QLD and NZ already with small numbers.

Re turn around no chance, in 2 weeks at this rate nsw will have over 1000 cases a day regardless of the vaccine. Even if they slow the cases down if they open up at 80% they can’t police those who haven’t been vaxed at all. The numbers are guaranteed to blow out its a reality, restrictions are going to be around for ages & just wait for the next mutation to form in the next 6-12mths.

People often worry about the short term inconvenience but because of how bad Gladys handled it the longer term pain will be lasting.

The only good thing about a mutating virus is eventually it will be a dominant strain which is benign and die out because it can not find new hosts. The rub is you never know how long that will take to happen

There is no way I am expecting this to turn around in 2 weeks. I'm talking months. I'm interested in how it plays out.

I'm feeling more confident now. The only issue is what is the success criteria. I've stated previously how the UK with 100 deaths per day but a functioning health system is considered a success.

The way I see it there is one big tool to handle this situation and it's vaccination. I don't see anything else working anywhere near as well. We are now above 50% first dose vaccinated but people are getting vaccinated. I reckon if we get to 80% we will be kings of the world.
