Apparently thousans of AZ vaccines had to be sent back to UK because they weren’t being used here. All due to a massive media misinformation campaign IMO

Agreed. The QLD chief health officer played a big role in this misinformation as well.

They (fed govt) had already decided to discontinue AZ production well before her comments.

The media get about 99% of the blame IMHO.

That QLD chief health officer was completely incompetent as well. She should be fired. I don't think I've ever seen such incompetence from someone in that level. Imagine being a professional in that role and blurting out nonsense.

It'd be interesting to understand why some people bought into the BS regarding a whole bunch of issues. It's misinformation but why do people buy into it. Is it just the mainstream media or is it social media. Why do people listen to un-sourced information and believe it ? It'd be good to hear from people who bought into stuff that was clearly false.

It'd be good to hear from people who bought into misinformation and have since changed their tune why they bought into it.

That gym is up the road from where I work but the general populace in that area don't strike me as the type to rush out and get vaccinated - your assumption wouldn't surprise me Ink.

This is really really bad but I think there is no option but to open up. I also think it goes cases -> elapsed time -> deaths. I'm not even sure if opening up had any impact on the deaths today. On the flip side those cases assuming they are mostly unvaccinated is going to lead to deaths in the future.

I feel so sorry for Victoria. They've copped it.

I know for a fact some gyms are allowing unvaccinated people into their facilities. I have a couple of friends who own gyms and one of them is unvaccinated. There are some weird ideas amongst people who appear to be health conscious.
