Capitalism is the biggest Ponzi scheme ever devised. It requires continuous growing markets to survive. That cannot go on forever and is starting to reach its limits as emerging markets shrink. A different way of looking at wealth is needed.

Capitalism the real virus. But we are all born into it and most would not want it any other way.

How would you run things Comrade?

All our financial hope lies with Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon if he fails at keeping all this together non of us will have any money ! Laugh and moke all you like but he is the person that your financial security rests with ...if the share market disintegrates life as you have know will just be a distant memory !

Yet in reality, as a result of his own lack of action and in deferring responsibility to the states, Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon now has very little actual control, other than over the minds of the delusional section of his base and possibly over a few semi loyal state Governers. Murdoch may even abandon him as things slip.

The most powerful Governers in the country, including the two that control about half the national economy within their states, have pretty well closed them down due to the situation. Many states have rightly taken the same or similar measures, with more joining them each day and most, if not all, will only reopen to any semblance of prior normality when the medical situation permits.

He’s going on about Easter, but it’s really not up to him. If the Governers say no, the churches won’t be filled. Unlike Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon, the Governers are listening to the medical experts.

So what you're saying is that it doesn't matter what Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon does, you'll always find something negative to say?

Glad you're a team player in such tough times!

The hugging / kissing countries are leading the numbers

No coincidence

The Italians are very family orientated and enjoy large family dinners and get togethers at close quarters. Italian (and Greek men) like to sit at coffee shops for long periods with many at the same table. It is a cultural thing which unfortunately is having tragic consequences.

I guess my compliments of nations doing lockdown, is it seems there is science that's most effective. I don't think or care about the economy as much as others, but I acknowledge people need to. That's why Scott isn't calling a lockdown yet. It's money. For me I'm happy to let capitalism as we know it die and reborn lol I don't really care. A better system could start. But I acknowledge many people want our economy not to be in recession not depression to the extent we risk further spread.

If the economy completely tanks then there will be mass job losses and severe social consequences. Increased mental health problems. Increased crime, including domestic violence and child abuse. Increased marital disharmony. Increased drug and alcohol abuse. It will be an extremely ugly thing and that's why huge stimulus packages are rightly being rolled out. You don't want to witness the downfall of a political and economic system...

It is something to see the conservatives attempting to prime pump the economy through Govt intervention via spending.

My Mrs family is Greek ..know all about it ....I was ultra fit before I met her .....never met family who made you feel guilty for only having 2nds lol

I'm very proud of our NSW Police Force stepping up to take control of the security around cruise ships. The Police Commissioner's strong words are long overdue and passengers need to take ownership of their decisions to embark on cruises when this crisis was emerging.

Border Farce is just that.

We were on a cruise ship about a month ago, when we got off the ship and till the time we jumped into a taxi was 6 minutes, that included finding luggage etc. Never seen anything so quick, thankfully no reports of the Virus on our cruise, sadly some friends of our have it after getting of the Ruby Princess.

We were on the ruby 2 months ago. Doesn’t take long at all to get off the ship, get your bags and get out amongst the population.

I guess the leader of Border Farce will blame NSW Health for the chaotic scenes at the Arrivals Terminal at Sydney Airport with returning residents squashed together without distancing. Well done blackshirts.

Seems these times have brought out the best and worst in people.
Listening to MMM on the Gold Coast today and there was 2 people who rang in to tell of total strangers paying for there groceries.
Unfortunately my partner who is a nurse at Gold Coast hospital came home yesterday and they have been told not to wear there uniforms in public after another nurse wasspat on and told she was spreading disease, she was on her way to work. 2 other cases of other nurses being verbally abused.

Quite the opposite actually, yet you know that already as I praised him for the rare occasion in which he acted in a presidential manner in this crisis and pretty sure it was in direct response to you.

I have also expressed my want for a reasonable leader for that nation in particular, though won't hold my breath on him fulfilling that role.

Always a team player, but cannot respect an obnoxious captain.
