Looks like Costanzas girl.

I thought she looked like Ben Stiller's Mrs myself

Ben Stiller's missus is hot.....
the one pictured, not so much.

The app is still not functional..you can't upload your health info...hope they get it sorted before easing restrictions..

Just on this app
If we can't get enough people to sign up voluntary, then the Government should make it compulsory for those who wish to receive the job keeper allowance.
No app no pay
Also priority could be given to those who get sick is you had downloaded the app.
I know that may sound harsh, but for those that actually care, it was seem reasonably fair
If you don't care to protect other lives including you own then back of the list for you if push came to shove.
Put it this way
Think of the app as an insurance policy and you have invested in that policy
Now you go to hospital with covid and beside you is someone who has covid who has not downloaded the app
There is only one ventilator left to save one life
Who gets it ?
Is this controversial or fair ?

No, if we even get to that point then the app was a total failure.

It's not the app that is the failure
It's the failure of the people to use it

I would be disgusted in us as a nation if we used the downloading of an app to decide who gets treatment.

The App will never be a failure only the people living with tin foil hats will be !! Probably at a huge cost for others .

So do you agree we should give treatment priority to people why have downloaded the app?

Yes why not give priority to those who care
These are the people talking it seriously and who don't want the Virus and more importantly don't want to spread it
Why give someone who doesn't value the life of others all of a doctor's efforts when this same doctor could save the life of a response person who actually cares, and has taken all efforts to help defeat this Virus
If people expect doctors to help them, try helping the doctors in the 1st place by not spreading it

Because that goes against a lot that we stand for as a country, what example does that set for the future? Do you really want to live in a country that would deny you health care based of not agreeing with the government?

First of all you need a future. That is the whole point, to save lives so we all have a future

How can you argue about setting an example for the future, when your argument will not give some people the opportunity of a future
The app will save lives not take them
I don't know why some people think this app has been devised to destroy their lives but I think it has something to do with being delusional
Anyway each to their own

I have downloaded the app but a decision on healthcare should never be based on who downloaded the app, that would be disgusting and I would be extremely disappointed in anyone that supported that decision.

Disagreeing with your government is not the same as having the right to disagree. Your right to disagree is not going to disappear because you don’t use it every day.

I may be being a bit of a Cassandra here, but I see a slightly concernning trend in the data ATM.

The rate of growth of new cases has been constantly dleclining since the restrictions came in and we got the rate of new cases down very low and numbers of new cases down to around 10 a day or lower,

Last 4 days has been a slight but steady increase with numbers of new cases progressing from 7, 14, 16, 18 and the multiplier has steadily increased from 1.001 to 1.003.

Still incredibly small numbers but concerning that the trajectory is now up.

Yep and no cancer treatment to smokers, no medical care to obese people, no emergency surgery to those who drive recklessly and crash. Hopefully you can see where i'm going with this.

I think we might expect to see the numbers move around for a while @Tiger5150 . Probably too early to call it an upward trend. The blip may be as a result of relaxation of social distancing (intended and unintended) but it might also be as a result of increased testing.
We could look at the ratio of positive results to test taken, but even that figure would be a bit difficult to interpret because the criteria for testing has changed and will probably continue to change.
I guess that all we can do is remain alert to the possible issues that might influence a change in the numbers being recorded. As you say, the good news is that infections seem to be staying at a fairly low rate.
These graphs are really good, by the way.

THanks Tigger. My POV on it was that i was really hoping we could crush it down to zero and hold for a few weeks, With Govt looking to open up, it seems that is not going to be attempted which to me means we will likely be in a very drawn out period of varying restrictions.

IMO if it starts to escalate I think it will be very difficult to get Aussies to lock down hard a second time.

Whilst the co-operation between political parties and levels of government has been commendable (and just great to see actually) I still feel that there is an element of political self interest coming out in some of the directions being pushed.
The Federal Government is ultimately responsible for the economy and will be judged on how it handles that. It has a vested interest in getting everyone back to work. (hence the push to get schools re-opened).
The State Governments are ultimately responsible for the delivery of health services and will be judged on how they handle that. They have a vested interest in keeping the pandemic at levels that the health service can easily handle (hence the reluctance on their part to rush schools back to full operation)
I mention the schools issue only by way of example.
Or maybe I'm being overly cynical.

Not cynical at all, I believe you're right in your estimation.

The Federal Government have a massive budget black hole now due to this (granted it was out of their control.) They will need as many people as possible going to work and putting money in the coffers to bankroll the enormous welfare bill.

Conversely, the State governments have a vested interest in making sure their respective health systems don't fall in a screaming heap so messaging between Federal and State governments might start to become a little contradictory.
