Great news for NSW.

Hong Kong is kicking butt at the moment. 0 local cases for around 3 weeks now. The small number of imported cases are also being picked up within a day from immediate testing. I'm back on client site full-time now and everything is starting to get back to normal.

Still masks and hand sanitiser everywhere though. Can't see that changing in a hurry.

I wish China could keep the factories off. I've never seen so many clear, beautiful days in HK.

That was my only complaint about Honkers when I visited, the air pollution.

Yeah. It can get horrid mate. When you have to install a pollution tracker on your phone and stay inside on bad days, you know it's bad.

It's a beautiful city when the air is clear. I reckon the harbour is 2nd only to Sydney.

You forgot Gladstone harbour ...take away all the industry ...all the heavy metals at the bottom of the harbour

And the two headed monstors

Sorry happy
One of your family photos

On a serious note
China punishes Australia with meat and barely import suspentions and this will hurt our farmers and economy
Why, because we pushed for an inquiry to the Covid virus ?
Do they have something to hide ?

The world should stop trading with China if they try to push thier weight around
Somehow I think China would reley more on food imports from other countries than other countries would reley on thier manufactured goods
They may be cheaper but
Inferior quality and the cost of lives and financial costs to the world economy would add up to much more than a world trading halt with China
Wouldn't it ?
So as suggested on the news, our farmers need to find other markets to sell to
Who does China sell to if no one buys

Problem is it would hurt thier people
Why is it that China do not want the world to find out the actual source of the Virus
It looks like a cover up from the outside looking in
That's my opinion anyway

Now back to Gladstone and a Happy family shot

There will be significant change in work practices including office accommodation. The trend towards hotdesking or staff not having a permanent workstation must cease.

Provision of additional public transport to reduce congestion must occur. Will Govt stop urban expansion and infill development to alleviate overcrowding?

The culture for awarding the VC to staff who come into the workplace while sick must end.

Do you really think that is going to happen - it won't - things will be different but it won't be some new utopia. And as for additional public transport - they can't even get the existing public transport to run properly. Take off the rose coloured glasses.

A few law suits might change things though. I’ve come close on a number of occasions but finding the right lawyer put me off doing it. I think the ambulance chasers will be chomping at the bit to make a name for themselves over sickness being transmitted in the workplace after this.

The figures coming out of Russia are bad

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries

I will be very suprised if Russia dosent become one of the worst countries affected. They have never had a robust health system and the powers in charge have never had the peoples welfare near the top of concerns.True figures will not be released by the government
Brazil will be even worse but i doubt if true figures will ever come from there either

I had my own Coronavirus moment today. I am on my way to work today and Ive developed a cough. Its persistent, but not that bad. Ordinarily I wouldnt even think of it but of course with the way of the world know, the thought crossed my mind about getting tested.

Anyway, I put the thought out of my mind and keep driving to work. Where I was working today I have been a few times before and its part of a industrial complex at Macquarie Park and Im supposed to be working in the carpark. I arrive at work and the car park that I am supposed to be working in has been converted to a COVID testing facility. So I get my days work done and also slipped in and got tested. Get results in next 24-48hrs but do not expect anything other than negative.

Good luck mate, I had a test about a week ago. With around 9000 tests a day and very few positive results in all likelihood it will be negative.

Im almost certain it will be. If the testing wasnt at my work, there is no way I would have been tested otherwise. Its an uncomfortable process.

Yep extremely unpleasant, I had a little bit of a sore throat and a head ache and wouldn't have worried about it either except my wife works in a hospital on the rehab ward and I didn't want to be the cause of it getting in there. So I was overly cautious and went and got tested.

Trust that it will be an all clear for you and checked out where the location of my nearest testing station was the other day, just in case we need to go there.

THanks to all the well wishers. Im very sure it will be all ok. The procedure isnt very pleasant but its over pretty quick and I was impressed with the organisation of the whole thing. Regardless of political leanings, we should all be very grateful that we live in this country.

Further to your test and the timeline as being at the end of your normal day, just wondering if it was government run, or private and if you needed some form of referral, as when I read about my local one, a referral was needed?

I went to the one at Nepean hospital, just rocked up and waited, no referral, no booking needed.

Difficult to answer if government or private run. The car park is next to a Private Specialist emergency medical centre and they were running it but everything there was branded Australian Government Department of Health. Actually looking now at the paperwork it has BOTH the Private Company and DoH on the letterhead. My guess is privately run, federally funded. Either way brilliantly organised and run. The signs said “Appointment Necessary “ but when I walked up and asked if I needed an appointment the response was “you just made one”. They do however for some reason want you to drive in.

Thanks, seems weird then that my local one would require a referral, whereas for @cochise going to a public hospital, there is no need as I had assumed.
