International travel? IMO 2025 is a realist timeframe.

i'm hoping end of this year or early 2021...otherwise i'll be heading to centrelink

Unless you are teaching English, then I don't see why you shouldn't have full classes with so many needing to re-skill in the coming years. Though I doubt that you will, as public education, apart from it's privatisation or destruction, has long been put on the backburner.

It seems an age, but wasn't that long ago that training was compulsory for reasonable sized businesses.

i teach amep on saturdays at tafe (not at UTS) and we're wondering how we gonna fill the numbers in 2021.

Most departments at University and TAFE invariably rely on a supplementary pool of international students. They pay x3 more tuition fees than locals and without their support it will inevitably mean less classes which means less teachers; support staff etc

A lot of these kids have had no choice but to talk to their mgiration / education agents or go back home.

It aint good my friend...

Maybe in this day of digital technology courses may have to move to a more online delivery format. Australia teachers could teach people english (or any subject) all over the world then. I mean through audio and maybe visual capabilities enabled, using just written text is probably not ideal for the teaching of language I'd imagine.

But yeah, good luck mate, hope it works out for you. This will unfortunately affect many people in many different walks of life for a while yet.

Well then, the expected lack of migration is certainly going to put a dent in the need for your particular classes. Still, I think that it is a good opportunity to extend the English program for those already here.

Yeah. In Britain.

What's that got to do with Australia?

Is there nothing you won't try to twist to suit your agenda? You're a Libertarian... Sic semper tyrannis, don't tread on me, etc etc... We get it.

Boges ...is there any language they you don't kick ass with

Just started learning Portuguese. That way I can make my whole way around South America without too much trouble. Finding it easier than Spanish as it is feels like it's structured a bit simpler (althought shares a common Latin structure,) and there's a lot of common words between Spanish and Portuguese.

whoa! Legend! you can speak Spanish? Where are you going in S America?

Probably best sporting ive ever been to is a boca juniors match

Yo hablo espanol un poco. Still learning, know enough to be able to watch movies and understand what's going on without subtitles, and I know enough to comfortably get around in a Spanish speaking country. Duolingo is a bloody awesome app.

logically yes. But its another thing to get bums on seats.

I'm of the belief (like you) we should never stop learning but how many of your friends that are mature age want to go back to University or TAFE?

I posted on this forum a link to free courses we're running at UTS but i doubt anyone has even click on the link...

The dispute between WA and the Feds over the ship at Fremantle concerns the role of the Fed Dept of Agriculture, pratique and Human Biosecurity investigation. Bret Walker SC in the Special Commission of Inquiry for Ruby Princess also took great interest in the same issue.

I recommend LPAB. I did a semester of it few years ago (part time)

https://lec.sydney.edu.au/current-students/enrol/

http://www.lpab.justice.nsw.gov.au/

I was really surprised at the cross section of students there. A lot of mature aged students 50 years +

tons of reading as you'd expect.

Yeah, whilst there are no doubt many more asymptomatic cases that have not been tested, the CDC would be working with figures very close to those below as they come from their local authorities and states. Based on that data the 17% death figure for finalised cases will undoubtedly continue to go down, but even without counting the who knows how many of those in the million plus still active cases yet to die, **the US death rate currently stands at 5.83% of all known cases.** That is more than seventy percent higher than the 3.4% figure that had many of us very concerned early in the thread.

I'm guessing he is using the death rate when compared to the entire population to again misuse and twist data to fit his agenda. It is dishonest and really is disgusting behaviour.

Our CQ situation has got unusual

The lady from the Rocky aged care centre who continued working while displaying COVID symptoms after driving to Brisbane and back has know been found to have driven to Blackwater and back .....and we have a 30 year old man who has died from COVID from Blackwater yesterday .....

Great social distancing on display at the Northcote Aldi store this morning. Responsibility is out the door with all shown here, especially the store's lack of management.

Sure, we as a community have done a good job, but with winter upon us, please don't throw that effort and pain out the window to save a few bucks on some cookware.

Seen this all over the place ... if us as individuals took some responsibility for our actions the Government would not have to get into our life’s .
Even after what we have been through over the last few months that picture tells the story !
We only have the Government to thank for getting this country through this virus period otherwise the general population would of been slaughtered!!!
