From memory, someone wrote on here that Gladys had a plan and believed it to be the way to go. Apparently they were going to deal with individual cases and keep a lid on things that way rather than tougher initial Covid health and border policies as WA and QLD adopted. Just touching base to see how that plan is going.

Gladys is failing NSW again(ruby princess the first one) but the worst aspect is the lack of leadership from our PM Scamo.Maybe he is doing something by praying really really hard at his church to stop the spread, this is the second xmas in a row when his lack of any involvement in a crisis as it is developing

Overseas quarantine is the weak link. Surely Scomo can think of better locations than in major cities where leaks have significant impacts. Also, Gladys should reduce to 500 per week to provide respite to both NSW Health and NSW residents.

How many do they take a week atm?

Capped at 350 per day so 350 * 7 = 2,450 per week max. Couldn't find the actual number that arrived in a week.

https://www.nsw.gov.au/media-releases/nsw-sets-new-airport-arrival-limits

There was comment in the SMH that NSW had between 5000 to 6000 per week at any one time in hotel quarantine.

Yeah it looks like NSW is taking more than the cap they had planned.

And the same comment included advice that two States, one to the North and the other to the South, are not taking anywhere near their maximum.

The other issue is the so called 'hotloads'.

Funny how those states are all to ready to point the finger of blame at NSW.

That is why they should be compulsory in close contact situations, particularly so for public transport. No ifs, no buts, then you see Abbott not getting fined despite travelling out of area for "exercise" that included catching up for a coffee with his propagandist Piers Akerman.

I think airline crews that do not have any enforced quarantine and celebrities that are able to buy their way around quarantine are the weaker links.

It is funny how they have not been able to trace the source of the Northern beaches cluster. They are able to use geometric testing to identify the particular strain of the virus, so where else has that been found, who has been there and what link do they have to the northern beaches? Unless you are talking about a number of people that have been walking around sick but never got tested and did not infect anyone else anywhere they went before the Northern Beaches.

The original source of the cluster appears to be a couple of clubs, where there are staff and everyone else has to sign in. Should not be hard to start tracing back from there unless there is a rock someone doesn't want to pick up.

I’d say the reason they can’t trace them back to the source is that source is no longer in Australia. Most likely flight crew that have returned home. Probably signed into venues as Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck knowing full well they weren’t meant to be there.

More likely for mine is the truthfulness of whispers, being that patient zero is another result of a political border farce decision of the Ruby Princess vein.

Kerry Chant's comment that Covid will be present for years highlights the impracticality of locking down borders. Sure lock down specific areas but the impact on businesses, jobs and psychological health must necessitate a new strategy for most States. Let cool heads prevail.

I was happy for us to block our southern border before and even though it interrupted travel plans this festive season, happy enough that others are closing borders to us. The transmission of the Northern beaches cluster to Victoria, breaking a couple of months free from local transmission and the disruption that it causes leaves the states little option and particularly so when there are no mandatory mask decrees in place at all in NSW.

What I am deducing from what the experts are saying is the vaccine is only a part of the equation, it is not going to stop you getting it just will alleviate the symptoms. Masks / hand washing / general hygiene and social distancing will be the norm for society for a couple more years apparently.. so with that we just have to coexist with Covid hopefully after the general vaccination has taken place it might just be like the common flu the ones that do not practice the specified health practices will be more exposed than those that do !

Victoria had two months free of the virus after four months of harsh lockdowns and mandating of behaviours. I think of all the businesses destroyed, futures ruined, jobs lost for a very temporary result. The virus is unrelenting and even with the vaccine, transmission will still occur.

What about thinking of all the lives saved so far
Perhaps we should go down the same path Donald Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon did
Or any other leader who refuses to believe this is a problem
Russia fudged its numbers for so long and then recently added over 100,000 deaths
![20201231_182836.jpg](/assets/uploads/files/1609403384321-20201231_182836.jpg)
China would be doing the same thing
If everyone had the covid app, then tracing would be far more efficient and this would keep the numbers low
But there are still many people with total disregard to the lock down
Like the Northern beaches residents attending a wedding at Circular Key

I agree that we can't stop this virus
But it must be kept manageable
Or like in Florida right now people go straight to Palliative care to dye as the hospitals have run out of ventilators
So far 1'800,000 people have died from Covid
That is alot of lives
And that is with intervention
Imaging the numbers without intervention

Those numbers do not include the extra numbers from Russia

Meantime our Gov allowing thousands a day to enter our country from these infected areas .. never wanting to upset our REAL masters in the North ! as usual..

Scott Morrison is still running the joint like a Marketing Dept looking for his next acronym whilst the ‘shot in the mouth’ dwarf Alan Joyce is calling the shots!

I don’t think most countries numbers are accurate, my cousins has COVID and I do t think he has been tallied. Not all his cell mates. He’s lost his sense of smell or taste. Can’t remember which one or both. Had a friend in NY who had all the symptoms and was told by Doctor just to stay home and not bother getting tested.

Similarly to Russia, the Mexican government recently admitted its true covid death toll is likely at least 50,000 higher than the official tally.
