177 cases for NSW ......4 more weeks of lockdown

Sorry for the bad news ladies and gents ...

more concerning is the number infectious in the community was 130 odd of that 177 cases
can chalk up some big number the next few days

Lockdown won't work unless tougher restrictions are forthcoming in the LGAs of concern. Night curfews and strict stay out home orders with NSW Police patrols.

Do you think they have the man power to enforce this?

Not being a jerk.
Just wondered if things got to this, is there enough staff in the police force to carry out such patrols?

One of my best mates is a cop and he said they're flat out, every shift with other jobs.... not sure they'd even have the cattle to ensure or enforce this.

I hope we do and I hope citizens report others doing the wrong thing.

The Premier just advised the greatest disease transfer occurs in households. How hard is it to obey health orders?

Apart from the lockdowns, tomorrow covid will have the most influence on my life thus far as we won't be able to say goodbye in person to a relative and friend who passed at the grand age of 99 last week.

Still, I suppose that we are lucky to live in an age where we can at least join in on a digital platform. For a bit of levity at this sad time and @Snake, the guy we will be farewelling is Joe Blake.

I havent seen my wife since covid started and am very unlikely to see her again it is destroying us both but there is nothing i can do to fix it as she cant get a vaccination in the phillipines to come home.

Mate, I am so sorry to hear about your situation. I can't imagine how you both must be feeling. I hope that somehow the situation eases in the future so you can be together again.

That situation really sucks.

My wife is from the phillipines and her parents are there now. It's good for me because they've been there the whole time. They've been vaccinated with the Sinovax vaccine but I think it's only like 5% of the population who have been vaccinated.

Is Duterte from the Bolsonaro school of COVID expertise?

No. He has stated he will lock them up unless they get vaccinated but he can't enforce that because they don't have enough vaccines.

https://knoema.com/atlas/Sweden/Death-rate

9.1 per 1000 in 2020
9.1 per 1000 in 2019
9.2 per 1000 in 2018
9.7 per 1000 in 2010

No extra deaths in the death rate

What has Sweden got to do with Australia?

There death rate with Covid in 2020 and there death rates from other years without lockdowns

That is a misuse of data.

How ?

Because it is an over simplification, for example did you investigate if any causes of death declined due to less mobility?

9.1 per 1000 people died in 2020 in Sweden all cause mortality that includes covid deaths

They have average alot higher in 2010

Man, stop hiding behind convenient data, and tell us what you think of the reality (or otherwise) of Covid-19. You seem to be one of those conspiracy theorists, just not brave enough to say it.

Do you think I am a conspiracy theorists like the global warming people ?

I'm 100%^ positive that you are a conspiracy theorist.

I'm not convinced about this. I don't think you can take it too far. This delta strain is horrendous.

I'm glad my parents never knew life as we know it now

Can you imagine the looney lefts reaction ,if the lockdown goes even harder. The ABC and Channel 10 will blow a fuse.

I thought they would support a harder lockdown. I thought the crazies were mostly on the right.

I have no idea what more the government can do. The loony tune above I think was trying to state that Sweden didn't lockdown and everything was perfectly fine. That is factually incorrect however how far can you push a lockdown.

They can go harder and should, but to do that requires support from the defense forces because people just don’t get it.

It’s not hard, you can fight and not agree with a lockdown all you like reality is if you do the lockdown will just last alot longer. Adhere to the lockdown rules and it will be over alot faster. They learnt it in VIC. Everytime a lockdown is called people complain but know 2 weeks is better than months.

People think rules will get relaxed they won’t plain & simply they just will be prolonged and harder

Haven't forgotten your posts from the early pages of this thread, nor from others that have, or have lost loved ones overseas and here at home, both of theirs or of partners and been unable to unite or grieve properly.

I spend a bit of time attending mental health support groups and take care to listen intently to each attendee of them and make a point of addressing at least one individual concern at subsequent meetings to help assure every single person that they are being heard.

For all the tough talk about bringing in the military..... the government using the forces for non-defence purposes is 100% illegal.

What are you talking about? Most of the people at the rally last week were libertarians and self anointed sovereign citizens. Most people on the moderate right and left generally accept that lockdown is the way to go.

From the footage I saw , lot of tracksuit gangsters and dreadlock, dirty hair pub types. Without generalising too much, it was a strange mix and not what I was expecting.

Both would likely have had doctorates from Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon University if he hadn't duped students.

My take is that it's the loony right. It's funny because it's more tribal than a traditional wealthier vs working class people.

The loony right consists of wealthier people and poorer people. The common thread is the absence of any critical thinking ability.

It's a tribal thing though. It's like supporting the Tigers. It's not logical.

I listened to an interview with him yesterday and he still thinks the election was stolen. I love Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon Uni. What a businessman.

I think some are easily influenced.
Roy Asotasi and Ben Roberts?

"They're trying to make us stay inside!!"
Alright Uso, let's roll !!

As @GNR4LIFE said, I'd love a two week break of staying at home. How amazing.

I am not in that position though and have to continue working through lockdowns and whatnot... but I see the other side of the coin as people have mentioned with the financial impact and the isolation getting to some, etc. So yeah not always good.

You cannot be a critical thinker or someone who isn't easily led and be a conspiracy theorist. You just can't.

Anyone who has an ability to think critically has to have some understanding of science. Conspiracy theorists abhor science.
