Speaking of Europe, this is an interesting response from Austria, where they have reintroduced lockdown - but only for the unvaccinated.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-11-15/austria-orders-lockdown-for-the-unvaccinated/100620180

Whilst I'm strongly in favour of Covid vaccination, I have my doubts as to whether this approach will work. Particularly given the level of vaccine hesitancy in Austria.

Antivax has been actively pushed by one of the popular Right Wing parties in Austria which explains much of the reluctance to be vaccinated.Sadly the gullible who believe them are the ones who will suffer

Cameron Smith says unvaccinated NRL players face the prospect of being locked out of stadiums.(ABC News: Jason Dasey)
:
Unlike the AFL, the NRL is not mandating vaccination for players
But Smith says state regulations will make shots almost impossible to avoid for NRL stars

The NRL has decided against following the AFL's lead by mandating vaccination, leaving it up to individual choice. But Smith said state coronavirus laws would make it almost impossible for unvaccinated players to take part.

The NRL has confirmed that players who were not vaccinated against COVID-19 would not be able to play or train in Victoria or Queensland as state borders opened up.For now, unvaccinated players will be able to train and play in NSW, but with strict protocols.

"If you're not vaccinated, you can't enter the stadiums. So you won't be able to train, you won't be able to play in any of those arenas. So there are consequences for [unvaccinated] athletes in the NRL competition."

Nelson Asofa-Solomona faces pressure to get vaccinated before the Storm's pre-season begins.
"Nelson's in a position that he's not vaccinated right now, so he won't be able to return to training at AAMI Park with the rest of the team until he is," Smith said.

"I'm not telling players they need to get vaccinated or not to get vaccinated … it's their personal decision. All I would say is that there are obvious consequences if they choose not to."

The worst virus I've ever had. At the moment I have been ill for 14 days and the test result is positive.
Each new day is unpredictable. You can be good for 2 days, and then suddenly bad.

1st post mate. Welcome to the forum. Take plenty of vitamin c. All the best.

Welcome William and get well soon, consider vitamin d as well if you're not taking already.

What do you think about Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective)? Will Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) be effective for COVID-19?

Well I for one thank you William for going to the effort from your sickbed to join a Rugby League Discussion Forum to let us all know that you have contracted COVID and only posting in COVID related threads. Well worth using your limited energy on.

We're not doctors and we're here prescribing medical advice. Do yourself a favor and seek some proper medical advice.

Its an interesting paper. Only tested in vitro, not in vivo, not yet widely tested or reviewed. It obviously will be.

IMO it would be part of the risk/benefit analysis. Even if it was shown to be correct, IMO it would not exclude the benefit of the vaccine. The Pfizer documents obtained in Japan via FOIA show that the overwhelming majority of the vaccine, the lipid nanoparticle containing the mRNA and there for the resultant S1 Spike proteins remain localised at the injection site (small traces in other organs....dont dig out that image of the graph and other organs it has been shown to be misleading). When you catch COVID, by the nature of the virus (replicating constantly) it travels throughout your whole body and impacts multiple organs and therefore introduces the S1 protein to multiple organs and all through your body.

Again....risk/benefit. If the virus remains viable in the population, we all probably have around 50% chance of encountering it, if vaccinated you have up to (depending on many factors) 84% chance of not contracting the virus.

If you contract the virus unvaccinated you have around 10% chance of hospitalisation and 1-2% of death (depending on age etc).

I read it. Can you explain in laymans terms why this is a concern if you are vaccinated ?

I don't see any issue.

Added:- Science is a funny thing in some ways. Sometimes you get ideas that lead somewhere and sometimes you don't. You can get studies that disagree. As a layperson you need to be able to step back and see the bigger picture.
