Vaxers have a read of this

I read it. Can you explain in laymans terms why this is a concern if you are vaccinated ?

I don't see any issue.

Added:- Science is a funny thing in some ways. Sometimes you get ideas that lead somewhere and sometimes you don't. You can get studies that disagree. As a layperson you need to be able to step back and see the bigger picture.

In laymans terms the study suggests (purely in vitro) that the S1 spike protein in COVID may inhibit DNA repairing itself when damaged which may explain some of the long lasting effects of COVID. The implication for vaccinations is that the vaccine prompts the creation of S1 Spike proteins and therefore introduces these proteins which could potentially have the same effect in a vaccinated person.

As I said in a previous post, even if this is correct, consideration should be made that the creation of S1 protein in the vaccination is reasonably localised and supposedly short lived in contrast to the virus which spreads throughout you and lives as long as it can or until you die.

Thank you. I'd really like @Eyeofthetiger-0 to come back and explain this in layman's terms. If you post a scientific article with some sort of caution my expectation is that you can explain it in layman's terms.

I'd like some real life examples of why this could be an issue as well. Maybe a bit more layman like.

To be fair some people have died. I talked to a guy the other day who said he had one dose and had a reaction.

If the vaccine was that safe, why the waiver? But yeah nothing to worry about. I’d sue a company’s ass off if it was me

Interesting article. Doesn’t really mean much in the real world though, other than worth further investigation.

There are heaps of things you can do in the lab in vitro that never translate to happening in an actual body. Definitely worth further investigation though.

The vaccine is safe. It's really safe.

https://askinglot.com/how-many-people-die-each-year-from-peanut-allergy

I'm just quoting a random piece of Internet dribble here but the point is people can die from eating peanuts.

If you are so worried about safety you wouldn't leave your house let alone ever get into a car or cross a road.

From my perspective it's all about assessing your risk rationally.

Do you sign a waiver before you get a COVID vaccine? Go and educate yourself.

The SARS-CoV-2 delta (B.1.617.2) variant is highly transmissible and spreading globally, including in populations with high vaccination rates. We aimed to investigate transmission and viral load kinetics in vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals with mild delta variant infection in the community.

So if I got the flu shot at chemist warehouse, do I sign a waver? I’ve been told no

I've signed an acknowledgement for every flu shot I've ever received, including this year at my local chemist.

This form includes my medicare details (for the AIR), and provides space to notate any allergies and/or prior reactions to medications (vaccines or otherwise).

Here, I'll even save you from 'doing your research', it looks just like this:

https://www.ausvacs.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Consent-Form-AIR-Version.pdf

The various Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) documentation referenced can be found here:

https://www.ebs.tga.gov.au/ebs/picmi/picmirepository.nsf/PICMI?OpenForm&t=cmi&q=agrippal,%20fluarix,%20fluvax,%20influvac,%20vaxigrip,%20Fluarix%20Tetra,%20FluQuadri

You'll generally be emailed a copy of this (for the specific vaccination you'll be receiving) as part of the booking/sign up process.

Can you give us your layperson interpretation of this one and how that impacts individuals assessment on being vaccinated.
