Too bad we can't go to the same pubs. The ones in newtown still do the scan and show me when it comes to checking in. I saw someone not allowed in because they argued that checking in isn't compulsory.

QR codes are not law, venues are legally required to supply a manual sign in option. Refusing entry to someone based on that carries a $12,000 fine. And it’s one that actually has to be paid because it’s in breach of an actual law. As opposed to the pretend mandate fines which are not legally enforceable because mandates are not laws.
I think the obvious thing here though if they are taking that approach, is that the pubs obviously run by dickheads, and THAT is why I probably won’t be in your pub ??

ok but most pubs are privately run.if someone flat out refuses to sign in at all then they won't be allowed in. It's a required to go into must pubs. Of all the 4 pubs I went into tonight they all made you check in before entry.

Two sisters full vaccinated one has not worked in 3 months been to emergency 3 times problems with the heart pounding also has been to a neurologist for the migraines and is tired all the time

The other is just tired all the time and starting to get the other sisters symptoms

Lady I work with been to emergency 4 time's and a man has same symptoms as my sister has trouble working

And two other ladies have started there menstral cycle again after 8 and 10 years

Another guy I know his best mates girlfriend died 12 after first shot

The facts are that the vaccinated have less overall viral load (and therefore shed less) compared to the unvaccinated.

Back on topic. My wife just told me that some epidemiologist stated we are the only country in the world loosening restrictions when there is a new variant that could cause havoc.

I find this COVID situation and the governments response increasingly bizarre.

I hope the data out of South Africa hold up for us and there are no issues but I have no confidence in our politicians at this point.

the main thing we should all care about is people,men ,women,boys and girls of all race,colour and creed...
the one big thing that has come out of this situation we are in atm is the hardship endured on many,many good people who just want to earn a living,feed their families,pay bills and enjoy life to the fullest..
People as human beings are mostly caring,kind and Godly people,there is the element of some humans that only want for themselves,this minority are the ones who dont care as we do,these are the ones that should be overcome by the good salt of the earth people that are in the majority...
That brings me to the point of the discussions we have within this thread,Earl has his opinion,you have yours and others have theirs...God only knows what type of world we would have if we were all exactly the same..
I will keep doing my research to find answers to MY questions.I have the freedom to do that as others do...
At the end of this horrible phase we are going through and only then will we all know how it ends up,who is right and who is wrong doesnt matter until we get out of this with as many lives safe and uninjured so life can go on as it was meant to,loving,peaceful,caring people raising families and enjoying friends company ..

Your last comment to me is the important one. I'm not really critical of politicians. I think they've done a good job.

Managing a pandemic via hope is though to me madness. Absolute madness.

When it comes to money I completely agree that we need to watch what we spend but you can take much smaller measures. We are going the opposite way.

It's a mind blowingly crazy approach to managing this situation.

I'm all for this but you could easily take smaller measures. Why not simply keep mask wearing and vaccination restrictions for a while longer.

That to me is living with the virus. I'm not suggesting lockdowns yet. Just give us some space rather than jumping all in.

There is a middle ground.

Anyway I hope that the data coming out of South Africa holds true here and this is all over. To be fair I reckon 2 months and it'll be over one way or the other. I also feel each individuals risk profile is probably lower. That doesn't mean the health system will be okay.
