I thought that I would post something on here that could be very interesting for many that have serious concerns about Omicron....I had the opportunity to read a science report in regard to this varient, the scientist that is monitoring it has stated that although it is spreading rapidly,it is much weaker than previous varients and if it goes through the community it will benefit greatly herd immunity, which he says will help the virus die off completely ....
just a bit of positive input to help people not to worry so much ....also I would like to thank people who have supported me on this forum who can see that Im a person with the freedom to post my opinions while I respect others, the people who do request me to seek help and tell me my opinions are rubbish,I will wait and see what transpires in the coming days and weeks ...you never know I may be closer to the truth than some consider...in another situation in the US ..a war veteran who wasnt vaxxed was refused food in a restaurant, while many asked the owner to let him into eat,he refused, the other patrons bought him food and gave it to him outside,he was a person who fought for freedom and lost many friends in battle, and thats the thanks he gets from some....

Two of my son's notified yesterday that they are close contacts after gatherings on the weekend - Now in isolation awaiting COVID test results. Xmas comprimised. Appt this morning cancelled due to close contact - workplace closed until further notice. We might not be in lockdown but the virus is rampant in the community and people are isolating everwhere independently - and or not.

My wife is the same. Sent home from work yesterday. The 4yo that came into the medical centre with his mother is one of 18 kids from a local childcare centre that has now tested positive.

Merry Christmas!!

Well put, TT.
Of the many issues here, one of the biggest is the ignorance and entitlement of many of those that chose to be vaxxed thinking that they are immune to the virus. There is a general "holier than thou" attitude from many, especially when dealing with one who chose not to be vaxxed.
Now, as telltails mentioned, we are dealing with virus spreading at Christmas parties, Westfields Christmas shopping, visits to hospitals, Christmas carnivals, etc, etc, etc.
We should ALL be tested before we cram into Mum's living room for Christmas lunch.
WE should be constantly reminded that the vax effectively does little to prevent you catching or spreading the virus.
Because what we have now is a wave of ignorantly righteous, and blindly confident people engaging in virus spreading behaviour, especially during the festive season. And these people apparently make up 90+% of our society.
Get tested. Get off your high horse. You had a jab for the virus, you didn't invent a cure for it.
GET TESTED.

The question remains...if the virus is getting weaker and is less infectious, while the original Covid had a 99.9% survival or very little effect on the kids, why do we need to jab 5--12 yr olds ? wouldnt they be better off getting Omicron for natural immunity and then if another varient comes along the effects would be even far less than a common cold...?

I'm sorry to learn of your situation. I have done one 14 day isolation and came close to a second by chance. It is not clear whether our family Christmas will proceed. Close family members are NSW Health employees working in major hospitals in the Illawarra. The risk of bringing Covid into a hospital setting is too great. Try and enjoy your Christmas with your wife.

Reckon that without changes our health system almost/or collapses early in the new year on the back of the removing almost all QR tracing and restrictions during the week. For mine short odds it'll be back into some form of lockdown again.

Hospitalisation is way down on earlier strains when we were in lockdown. Hopefully a trend that continues

Kids that age enjoy their grandparents being around

Edit: although I’m all for parents choosing after deep thought at that age

Your point ?..if it doesnt affect the kids and it is much weaker, why should the Grans be worried if they are vaxxed...?

Should have grabbed a loaf of bread from the bakery and whipped up a sandwich. Rules are rules. He fought for others and for that he should be forever proud. These latest sacrifices are nothing compared to those he’s made before.

Efficacy less than 100%. A point you love to labour on.

Here is another interesting fact....

Her website is Dr Theresa Bishop...scroll down until you see the heading UNDERSTANDING OMICRON...

Thanks Paws - challenging times for all in Sydney. The trouble with this current predicament is by all accounts most are not feeling overly sick, and yet are significantly impacted, as well as all those who have come into contact with them. Not sure how much longer people will be compliant about testing, isolation, and boosters, if they are going to be continually inconvenienced - let alone the impact on business. It's one thing to have your life constantly disrupted when the virus causes significant health problems, but at some point I can see that a percentage of the population will just not comply - especially with
the NSW Gov now easing the tracking. Really not sure what the Gov are aiming for but it's ridiculous to expect that all people will act responsibly independently.
Obviously if you want to travel anywhere processes will be required.

From the Fact Check Library:

A meme doing the rounds on Facebook notes that a book sold on Amazon about the Omicron variant has a copyright date of 2020. It implies that there must be a coverup around the origins of Omicron, as the first cases of the virus were not reported until November 2021.

However, neither the book nor its author is legitimate, so the supposed copyright date is not valid.

How bad is this really going to get...its a weaker varient, although spreading rapidly worldwide...
UK are about to announce a nation wide lockdown starting on the 27th Dec...I suspect that other countries will follow suit,Holland has started already...
The major concern for me is that even though the hospitalisations are less and people arent as severely ill, how will this affect peoples businesses, work and most of all mental health...

Thanks for that, but shouldnt Amazon varify the validity of what it sells, you did say that the author and book is not legitimate,so what is Amazon selling...you did say SOLD on Amazon...and who is Dr Theresa Bishop, her website says she wrote and published the said book.?
I appreciate you found something to fact check this, but Facebook has been known to tell untruths as well as some fact checking library, somehow somewhere the truth will be revealed.

sold meaning for sale on, not necessarily purchased
ie this tree is sold on amazon is the same as this tree is for sale on amazon

amazon is both a seller and a platform, anyone can sell something on amazon, like ebay. which is why you get people selling look a like cheetos etc. it's not amazon or ebay selling the cheeto but a seller using the platform

amazon should verify the validity of what it sells, it also sells millions of items every minute, it, like google, probably uses a filter looking for key words and has those items manually verified, it may have been on a list to verify, it may have passed all the algorithms and been deemed safe for sale.
its an algorithm not an individual sitting there fact checking every word on every item sold

It's only rising case numbers now though. There is a lag between cases rising and hospitalizations and deaths. The next 2-4 weeks are huge in the context of the pandemic. Hopefully hospitalization stays low or maybe better put lowish.

We can all go live in mud huts because petrol will be $4 a litre if there is any for sale no food because of no packaging available interest rates for people paying off will go to 6 to 8 in percent
Or back to 1990 of 14 percent house prices will drop by 40 percent the wealth affect will disappear imagine if the numbers of every disease was published every day

If Australia closes it's game over and good luck with your 12 to 14 percent GST

Every think is going up in price imagine the scenes when there is no food to buy it was bad enough with the toilet

Because this is where we are heading and not many stop to think about it just close close close
