Has an interview with WT this week for the coaching role. Geez we must be desperate. He has no runs on the board as a coach. We are in big danger as a club right now and the coaching role has a huge impact on where we will be in 1,2,3 years time. If we end up with Craig or equivalent , we will lose guys like benji and Robbie who are looking for more than a first grade spot every week.

Craig joined the club as Head Coach in October 2011 and brings with him a wealth of experience having been coaching in Australia for the past 12 years.

He spent eight years at Manly Sea Eagles where he worked with the younger grades as well as being part of Des Hasler's first grade backroom staff. The highlight of his time at Manly came in 2008 when they were crowned as the NRL Premiers having thrashed Melbourne Storm 40-0 in the Grand Final.

Prior to the start of the 2010 campaign he linked up with the Newcastle Knights where he was an assistant to Head Coach, Rick Stone. Craig is credited with the emergence of the Knights' wing sensation Aku Uate by the player himself and arrived at MS3 Craven Park with an excellent reputation for developing players.

He also coached New South Wales at junior level and will be aiming to improve the Robins' fortunes in 2012 and beyond.
 
Looks like he's already coaching the Tigers.
The 2012 Hull squad included:
Ben Galea, Ryan O'Hara and Shannon McDonnell (must have followed him from Newcastle?)
Ben Galea may have had a quiet word backwards and forwards.
edit - and Lincoln Withers!

Or this whole thread could be BS.
 
great coaches must come from somewhere… they dont all start out as world beaters...
i just think with the ego's in our squad, we need someone recognisable.
 
As I've said in another thread, why would any tried top coach come to a club where the players can get the coach chopped because he offloaded their mates, and the club tries to wiggle out of the contract with him by putting him in a meaningless position to hope he leaves. We will get a mug, and be lucky to make the top 12

We need a coach with some sort of reputation that will grab our playing group by the scruff and take them forward…chancing our arm on fringe coaches who have been good junior coaches and assistants isn't the right time...especially with the attitudes and mess we're all reading about. The coach needs to be tough and assert their authority to all...

Accept that he is currently a head coach in the Super League - which puts him in front of people like Folkes who are just assistants - not saying he should get it but I think we just need the best coach and the right coach and that might be Sandercock or parish

The role of the sub-committee formed to select a new coach was to find the best one available, (given the limitations of dollars available etc). That must mean interviewing anyone with any sort of credentials who has expressed an interest in the job. Whether or not he meets the required criteria and interviews well, is yet to be seen, but at least he should be looked at. Good on the subcommittee for agreeing to 'check him out'. They're doing what they are supposed to do.
 
Yet someone like Mick Potter has to go to a journo and ask for a story to be published to express his interest in the position

how about kevin walters a tough nut in his playing days he may bring some steel into the wt defence and as he is an under study to bellamy which is a benefit .
