I feel day 1 is split even. England may rue those dropped catches, especially the one of Clarke.

There's been some poor cricket played by England so far this Test.
Haddin should be towelling off and reaching for the talc right now but Monty was too busy daydreaming to take the catch.

Next hour could be one of the most crucial of the Test

If we manage to get through to lunch without losing a wicket the Test match could be worse case scenario for Australia a drawn Test

Clarke maintains his average of 102 at Adelaide. Good going pup.

Yeah I bet Clarke wishes he could drop the Adelaide pitch in whenever he bats

And the Brisbane pitch when they bowl

Thoughts on a declaration ??

Bat til tea in my opinion and give yourself about 30 overs at the Poms and hopefully get 2-3 wickets

I think you want as many runs as you can grab first up. Adelaide tests have a history of teams making even 500 and then losing after a second innings collapse. I'd think there will be a declaration tonight if we keep going but more likely half way through that final session when hopefully we're in that 550-600 range.

I agree with you there Yoss. Clarke will want to give England about 45 minutes to bat. Nothing can really be accomplished in that time with the bat but a wicket or two can really be advantageous to the Aussies.
1st innings runs are like gold so they'll take every single one and want the English bowlers bowling as many overs as they can.

The one mistake we could make is to bat England out of the Test

If we make 600 , It means we will basically spend 3 days in the field trying to knock them over which with our quickies stocks could be risky

Day 2 to Australia. Clark, Haddin and Harris all did great with the bat. Johnson cleaned up Cook and could have had Carberry with a review on the last ball of the day.

Day 3 won't be easy. The bowlers will have to stick to the plans and have some luck to dismiss the English on a pitch that played better then I thought it would.

england can only play for a draw here and the only people who could've ensured it were trott and cook. cook will have to play a massive innings in the 2nd innings here.

wonder if aus will let them follow on if they get an opportunity. it will be am absolute spinning paradise day 5 and swann/monty will smash us if it does happen.

Can't see us making them follow on unless we rolled them for under 120 -150 Prmz

We have another Test in Perth following and our fast bowling stocks are already under stress

What makes you think we will have to bat again if the follow on is enforced? They will have to hit 500+ in their second dig. They havent managed that in total in 3 innings so far …..

Sorry just noticed that. I didnt think they would fail so miserably again either. We are witnessing the destruction of a good cricket side in this series.

Imagine what Johno will do to them in Perth! Batsment will have to go out wearing adult diapers. He is bowling scarily well.
