We are getting hammered. Aaron and Shami are too inconsistent, and Sharma just has no luck. Hopefully Kohli and co. Can match this massive total the Aussies are putting on. Btw top knocks from Smith, Warner and Clarke.

Their attack is the worst i've ever seen from them. Their batsmen are too good to be bowled out twice in 3 days, but it will happen cos they can't handle the bounce.

Dude, there is no bounce. The pitch is flat!

The pitch is a total road. Such is the case with most of the POS drop in pitches. The AFL has destroyed Adelaide Oval.

Anyway, while I agree the pitch is offering nothing, the Indian pace trio have awful averages. Sharma and Shami are averaging 36 and Aaron averages 47 (he's only played a few Tests, but he still averages 36 in first class so that gives you an idea.) Johnson & Harris will use this pitch better. Siddle will tie up an end and won't offer much (Hazlewood should have been picked over him for mine,) and Lyon is not renowned for being a match winner on Day 5.

I see this running to a draw.

I'm miffed as to why Siddle is even in the side, there's nothing above average about him. I reckon the majority of bowlers in domestic cricket could do his job.

You would assume that it will be a draw, its definitely the favourite atm. India getting with 50-70 i think would probably ensure that's where the game is headed. Clarke wouldn't declare until he's in a position where he can't lose, and even if everything went the Aussies way tomorrow, i couldn't see him declaring till late tomorrow night, leaving India maybe just over a day at most to eek out a draw.

Good knock by Kohli.

Yes things have certainly changed

The Adelaide Test used to be Australia Day weekend and they never had to use a drop in pitch because it had time to recover (as did the MCG and SCG )

Use to always turn a bit back in the day , but has always been a good batting track as far as I can remember

Didn't pick Lyon to take a fivefa. Pitch certainly seems to be deteriorating and benefiting him. Should get the opportunity to be the day 5 match winner than he has always struggled to be.

Watson needs to turn the strike over more. He gets bogged down way too easily. This is the one match where he should just tee off.

With young Mitch Marsh stepping up to the plate and looking like a kid who can fill the allrounders role Watson must be on shaky ground. Also with Warner and Smith so reliable, maybe it is a good time to try a new opener and a new no3.

Also as posted before, its Lyons day to day,he has never ever delivered on the last day of a test, but today just might be his day if Harris and Johnson do not do the damage

It was Lyon's bounce that undid the Indian batsmen. In the 1st innings. Siddle and Harris often get a bit of reverse swing and Johnson is never easy to face. If Australia declare now, 363 will be hard for India to get.
Surprisingly its Siddle with the best 2nd inning bowling average of 18.5.

Harris and Johnson bowled well in tandem. Johnson got the first wicket, he's fired up. Should be a great days cricket.
Funny how India with all their off field power insist on no DRS then end up coming best with the 50/50 calls. Same thing happened to them in England.
Lyon's first over looked dangerous.

I can see why the BCCI insists on no DRS. It's there to prevent the absolute howlers but the way batsmen and bowlers use it now it's like a shot in the dark. In one dayers they use them as a time wasting technique.

The umpires in cricket do a pretty good job and when they're unsure they're more than happy to refer it upstairs.

I wish to see this same in NRL.

How many howlers have you seen in this game? Lyon has had a couple go against him, the Indians have had a few decisions go against them too. It's to prevent the incorrect decision being made.

The ICC should just force India to use it. If they don't like it they can piss off and play ADD cricket against themselves all year round.

What a cracker today has turned out to be. The game is pretty much resting on India's bat atm. Its highly unlikely that the Aussies will be able to take 8 wickets in the last session of the test match to win, given the amount of bowling they've already done over the last few days, though definitely not impossible. One wicket could turn into 2 or 3 very quickly.

But it seems as though its up to India and how they wanna go about it. They're chugging along pretty well, they'll definitely have a crack if these two can go on and get hundreds.
