Brilliant victory , very inspiring . Kholi was brilliant but one reckless shot cost India Victory IMO.

And a couple rough calls, but the rough calls did go both ways tbf. They gifted the Aussies a few of those wickets, but the way the Aussies were bowling, they probably would have got them anyway, except for maybe Kohli who was only ever going to get himself out.

That's about the 4th test i've seen go down to the wire like that in the last yr, and people still have the ignorance to say test cricket is dead. Yeah right, its the best form of the game and always will be.

I think India will take a lot from this game, despite getting themselves into a position where they should have at least drawn it. We're in for a good competitive series i think.

Yeah agreed all round , no doubt Test Cricket is the best.
This game was brilliant , one minute your thinking a Draw , then India Win, then Aussies Win .
To me the 2013 1st Ashes Test at Trent Bridge with Phil Hughes 81 and Agar 98 as 11th Man was brilliant to watch , they both made a brilliant partnership and we lost by 14 runs in that Test , brilliant Test match

Amazing game. Played the way cricket should be played. I admire India going for the win and Australia's declarations in both innings set up the game. Australia played with a lot of emotion and both teams never gave up. Lyon for PM.

Great Test played in great spirit….6 centuries scored amazing

Lyon's best last day bowling of his career.....deserved MOM...

Test cricket is now the only form of the game that I care for. Used to watch the one dayers and attend occasionally , but when the twenty over game kick started the mercenary era, my interest quickly waned.

Give me a Test anyday over pyjama or ADD cricket. That was a cracking Test and both teams were fantastic. Great to see Lyon finally be that day 5 winner that most quality spinners are.

if Kohli hadn't holed out they would have gone close to winning. He was seeing them like beach balls out there.

Lack of DRS screwed both teams. Surely they've got to be looking at it now.

Oh and Watson has to go. Offered nothing in this Test. More interested in preserving his average. Gets bogged down, has no footwork and has nothing with the ball.

If we must have an "all rounder" keep Marsh and bring in Doolan for Watson. I cannot believe that the screws are being turned on Rogers and that Watson doesn't even get mentioned as being under pressure to keep his spot.

I would be giving Hazlewood a start in Brisbane for Siddle as well. He is struggling big time.

So Clarke has said he may never play again. Bit premature to be thinking that far ahead i'd have thought, but he is pretty banged up and has been for a long time so it wouldn't be too much of a shock.

According to this story put about 45 mins ago, Smith is pegged to be nominated as captain for the remainder of the series. Good move IMO, Haddin is 37 and won't be around forever. Smith has already captained the Sixers in the BBL and NSW state team.

Probably a good indication that Clarke could be ready to retire.

A lot to put on a blokes shoulders at this stage , he has only just found his mojo in Test Cricket in the last 12 months

Personally I'd rather see Haddin / Smith as co captains for 12 months to help with the massive change over and then hand the reins over then

He has just lost one of his best mates as well remember

If it happens too early it could destroy him , not worth the risk for both his captaincy and as a player long term

But as Ian Botham once said , you get offered the captaincy of your country and it is anytime ,anywhere and anyhow a big YES

This all has taken a massive toll on him mentally and physically ,that's why I mentioned I thought he might retire shortly

It is the Indians that don't want DRS if memory serves

Money talks and they have loads of it cricket wise

Granted Happy, however i'd still be very surprised. With Haddin and Rogers both 37, Harris is 35 (just googled his age, didn't realize he was that old, damn), Clarke possibly retiring, Watson struggling, is the term ''transitional period'' too early to say out loud. And Johnson won't be too far behind that lot either, even he's 33 now.

I don't usually believe in all this sort of stuff normally , but look at the sprinkler in the background

In the spray it looks like someone's face / head

I suppose though when lose a lot of players all at once like we have every 5-6 years for the last 10-15 years we will always lose a bunch all at once

Bugger them. Expel them until they're ready to get on board, let them play six thousand ADD cricket tournaments a year. They won't see any Test or ODI cricket until come around. They've got to learn they don't own the game. They've already shown they are prepared to ruin West Indian cricket to make a buck out of a failed tour. I know every country has their own interests at heart but the BCCI do not care for the world game unless they get what they want.

I'm with you mate

Get a few Tests when they are on the end of a few more howlers and they will change

Personally think from what I saw , we won out with the lack of DRS , a couple of decisions would of been given not out if they had gone to DRS with our bowlers

Dhawan was definitely not out in the 2nd innings and someone else was very 50/50 at best in the 1st innings for the Indians
