I thought Watson bowled pretty well…but geez when he walks back to his mark he looks like he just finished 45 marathons....

And he bowls 125kph pies. Fair enough he's been economical and he's bowled a bit, but if the Starc and Marsh didn't go down injured he'd have been lucky to bowl 5 overs. By that logic he is seen as a genuine #3\. He is not performing with the bat so why is he there? Can't see why Rogers and Haddin are copping so much flack and Watson skates through without much (if any,) criticism.

**He's not made for Test match cricket, only ever seems to score runs in the second innings when we have a comfortable lead**.

Boom….made a 25 then gets out to a lazy shot...

Losing Rogers on the stroke of tea hurts....3 for 121

Strange the Indians refused the last overs bowling spin

Makes me think they are quite concerned they aren't in a winning position

I couldn't picture an Australian captain ever doing that in the same position

Why bowl a part timer and let the Aussies knock off another 30-40 runs? Go in, re-group and start again tomorrow.

How about SA last night. 0/57, lose 3 for none, so that becomes 3/57\. AB and Amla come in, start together on 0 and go to stumps at 3/340\. No bigge

Ashwin is no part timer and Sharma isn't the worst part timer around

As I said , Australia wouldn't knock back the chance and I reckon Smith and the Aussies will feed off this

Since when did it become the Umps who decide ….In the old days light was offered to the batsmen....If that was the case Happy do you think Smith would have taken it?

No actually the Indians decided mate , they asked would they put the spinners on when they tested the light at both ends and they said no they wouldn't

Then they would of offered it to Australia

This came straight from Umpire Erasmus's mouth in a post match interview on ABC radio

So why did Healy say it was the Umpires decision? …that because they weren't going to bowl spin they deemed it dangerous sent them off....

Here is the rule change from the MCC..

I don't know Geo

I'm not umpire Erasmus

Just repeated what he said after stumps

Regardless, the game probably couldn't be any more even atm. First session tomorrow will be the guide for which direction the rest of the game is heading.

What's going on with the playing surface at the GABBA? The pitch is fine but the outfield is shocking. Real shame that the WACA doesn't get a Test this season but that potato farm does.

Worst thing they did was bounce him at the start….they should have bowled to him like they did to Marsh...

Now Smith goes about quietly approaching another TON...

That's it, Johnson has demonstrated how to unsettle a bowling attack. Fantastic work Johnson
