8 for 199 starc and lyon really need to dig in and stay with warner. warner faces the tough decision of hogging the strike by turning down runs or trusting the tail

Win, lose or draw, they are simply not good enough. Ponting and Hussey are finished, and Haddin is on the way out aswell. What annoys me the most is how fickel the Aussie public are. When they are winning they're the greatest team in the world, yet as soon as they lose, the public and media turn on them at the drop of a hat. The Aussies haven't done anything to impress me since the 5-0 Ashes victory
On the current attack, namely Pattinson, he's only playing NZ. Until he does the same to England, SA or even India, I won't be getting to carried away with the guy

far out its getting too close for comfort
agree with GNR the fans are fickle but i think are coming around that they arent as good as they were say 5 years ago. but i do think the way to get the fans back to the sport in general is with interesting high level contests. this match is very entertaining, both matches against SA could of gone either way. the series against india is a real test but there are still people saying they dont travel well and they did get humiliated in england not to long ago.
pattinson has only played against NZ yes but you can't take away from the fact that he has taken wickets and bowled well enough to get the wickets. of course the tests are going to come in the future but u cant ask for much more of him at the moment.
the likes of haddin, hussey and ponting should all give up after the summer but i dont think CA wont 3 players of such experience leaving at once and having clarke as the only player with half decent experience. the injuries to watson and marsh doesnt help because you want stability with the youngsters coming in for as long as possible. with haddin going tim paine could solve 2 problems at once. open paine with warner then have marsh, clarke, watson, khawaja, christian? which could be a serious option especially if hughes doesnt step up over the next year
