Well done Australia…Never doubted you.
Well done Mike Hussey and Punter ..ditto

Hopefully this win will shut the annoying no-it-alls up for a while.

Doesnt Pattinson look the goods? Bring Watto and Cummins back into this side and things arent looking too bad.

Punter is just class mate… Will always rise to the occasion when it matters. Hussey could have easily outscored Ponting if it weren't for the Indians going against the DRS. In this match, it cost them dearly.

You really have to wonder if we filled our side up with bowlers, we'd have a team of class all-rounders! Siddle and Patto both invaluable with the bat. Hilfy with a nice cameo in the 2nd innings as well. Once again we're spoilt for choice with good pace bowlers:

Cummins
Starc
Pattinson
Siddle
Hilfenhaus
Harris
Watson
Copeland
Bollinger (very unlikely he will ever get back in, but he's still class.)

Bring on Sydney!

Congrats to the Aussies

Certainly will be shutting this annoying know it all up

Was out playing golf who got the MOM

Patto got MOM. I reckon Siddle should have got it. Snared Tendulkar twice and scored 41 in the first innings to give us the unassailable lead.

Thanks CB From what I have seen of the Test I thought all of our quickies were good with both bat and ball and any could of got the chocolates

Punter and Hussey also as Hussey's great catch started the rot for the Indians

I think the Perth Test will be the crucial one in the series

Yep big partnership. If we can get Tendulkar and Laxative out (before he gets the runs) we'll be sitting pretty.

Are you helping Billy Birmingham out with his next DVD Yoss

Ishant Sharmthem

Hismelz Dhoni

Yoss you really make me laugh Brother

Could have gone to a few Aussies
Punter with his twin 60's and a couple of good catches,
Hilfy played really well as well.

Great team effort which is what it will take to beat this mob.

india now 4/61 with tendulkar and kohi in. pattinson bowling well. if they can get tendulkar before lunch we will be well on top. he is sucesptable just before a break so we need to get him ASAP

6/124 with Tendulkar gone. Pattinson is nothing short of brilliant in his test career so far - 4/38 today and an average below 15 plus some handy runs. Dhoni in with the bowlers although Ashwin has been one India's better performers with the bat. Half way through Day 1 and we could be batting around tea time.

things are starting to turn themselves around once again and are competitive once more against anyone. but our batting needs to step up once they get in and put on around 400-500 odd runs and try and bowl them out to win by an innings that would be enough to push ourselves up in everyones opinions

It's nice to see some teeth from our seamers again, but in all honesty I think as a whole unit (bowling inclusive,) we may well still be a while off competing with the English come next Ashes. Our bats need to find some consistency, our bowlers have been superb in the way that they have defended meagre leads with the cherry and even somewhat starred with the bat. They're coping well despite the extreme pressure heaped on them by a failing top & middle order.

That said, if our bats can all fire at the same time, this side would be as (if not more,) devastating as the early-mid 2000's team.

8/178 at tea. The House of Hilfen on a hattrick when they come back on. Shame the interval came when it did - you'd like your chances bowling to a number 10.

Yep. 2 boundaries and then out. Hopefully Ed Cowan can do his thing and dead bat for the next 30 minutes or so. Be nice to go to stumps at 1/60 rather than the probable 5/53

As soon as I type that… timber! 2/8 Marsh out.

Wanted: 1 spine. Please contact the Australian top order

Still not convinced by Shaun Marsh at test level. He's starting to do what he does at 1st class level. Looks great when he's in form but fails a lot. Big test for the Rickster at his home test.

I'm sure the knives will be out for someone by the time Watson is due back, especially if they lose this test. The Aussie public alwayz need to drop somebody after a loss

*insert Shaun Marsh's name here*

Khawaja must be scratching his head as to why he got dropped for Marsh - at least UK looks like he is going to get some runs.
