Cricket Season Thread

Cricket needs to wise up. This game tonight is going to be determined by who hits the best. The ability and skill levels of the two bowling attacks will have nothing to do with the result. Why? Because the pitch is a bloody road!
Cricket has always been a battle between bat and ball - leather against willow. Not any more! Scores of 359 vs 347 are boring, predictable and numbing.
Cricket authorities need to get back to ground conditions that assist bat vs ball. Not just mindless hitting.

Williamson said he didn't realize he had come to play in the indoor cricket World Cup

Poms pick Durham ...smallest county ground ......next thing they will be digging up pitches and blaming the IRA or fake bomb threats

Maybe some more fusareum .....

And Poms call us cheats

They've not all been like that. Been some quality pitches offering a bit for the bowler. Better than the lifeless decks we would have served up.

I agree CB. And these have been great matches. We need more pitches like this and less concrete blocks. And yes, our pitches in Australia are losing their character - sad.

Only going to get worse if Mexican Eggball get their way at the SCG. I hope Alan Jones and co. tell them get shafted.

Already destroyed the MCG and Adelaide Oval. The WACA will die with the Optus Stadium open.

England look like they're getting a second wind. However, their form isn't that bad compared to everyone else's. India have had a few slip ups, the Aussies have had their moments. It's still even imo.

Assuming Aus finished top they’ll get the 1st semi at Old trafford and I’m pretty sure it’s Tuesday night but haven’t checked the fixture to confirm. From memory the semis are Tuesday and Thursday in Manchester and Leeds respectively with the final the following Sunday at Lords.

England's win over New Zealand means, barring a a miraculous result at Lord's on Friday, Australia will lock in a semi-final against New Zealand at Old Trafford on July 9 (Tuesday) ****if they beat South Africa on Saturday.**** Not only would that pit the Aussies against a side that has lost their past three games, including one against their trans-Tasman rivals, it would mean Australia would stay in Manchester for the semi-finals instead of having to travel to Birmingham. But a loss to the Proteas could force Australia to make a trip down the motorway to face England at Edgbaston in the semi-finals."

"India appear on track for a semi-final rematch against England at Edgbaston on July 11, the same venue and the same opponent from their only defeat in the tournament so far."

Idk what is worse, going 1 on 1 with taumalolo on the field, or face mitch starc in the nets

@TheDaBoss trust me at least if Taum runs over the top of you, you’d be out cold

Starc will give you nightmares m8

This is not cricket. Cricket is an even battle between bat and ball. What I’m watching is just a game of close your eyes and swing. Good night all
