I guess that’s how McSwho got picked he has recent form, although not an opener, his past form is shite. Should not have been picked but options are low. Still, good luck to him, I hope he kills it and becomes the next McDon.

This is embarrassing
Less than a year ago we won the World Cup beating the "unbeatable " India in the final However missing from that team is
Warner ,Head ,Marsh ,Smith ,Labuschagne , Cummins, Starc ,Hazelwood
That's 8 out of 11
Australian public entitled to have the best possible team on the field
CA treating us with the attitude known as "who gives a shit "
Don't schedule a series if we can't field our best team
From our world cup winning side we have 3 playing today
That is Inglis , Maxwell and Zampa
 
Pakistan are almost 30 mins or 7 overs behind the over rate but they are not punished because they bowl us out with usually 20 overs to spare .So they just use their 4 fast bowlers and no need for their 5th bowler .
Bat out the 50 overs and Pakistan would have problems but we are too dumb to work that out !

Cricket Australia are my most hated administration. They have always been pathetic and had their arses saved by brilliant teams.
If they don’t want to play our best players, then they shouldn’t charge fans to watch this garbage.
 
Our 2nd division side ( batters who have played all 3 games)
Frazer McGuirk 3 innings 36 runs ave 12
Short 3 innings 42 runs ave 14
Maxwell 3 innings 16 runs ave 5.33
Hardie 3 innings 36 runs ave 12
Inglis 3 innings 75 runs ave 25

That's 5 batsmen producing 68 runs between them
Commentators said all except Inglis out of form
So why are they being picked ?

While I don’t disagree with your post, I raise you the Tigers “administration”.
As I said to Steve, they sold us out, and they been getting away with treating us fans like suckers instead of customers for years.
It’s a good point you raise, the general consistent success in the field has somewhat masked the poor delivery of product. And flooding the market with T20 doesn’t cut it for the over 30’s demographic.
Right now Australia is playing a one day international, using a reserve grade side, and not free-to-air. Poor.

These scores are typical T 20 totals ,
I don't think we've ever scored so low in 3 ODI's

Very disrespectful to Pakistan as well.
I’m sure they are enjoying this tour but in the long run, you don’t improve by playing second string sides.

My concern is for the tests in 10-20 years time. Will the next gen wanna watch it when they’ve been flooded with T20.
I’ll be sitting in the stands with about a dozen other oldies like @Stevec and @Halbrowne61. It’ll be the age care facility day out to the test match’s.

Yeah ....show up to Day 3 and the Test is over because no one can bat for more than 50 overs

Spencer Johnson looks good though, bowling well without much luck

Abbott an ordinary bowler goes for 2 sixes and a front foot no-ball 0-19 in 2 overs trying to defend 140! This team would not beat one of the minnows in the 50nover game

- this is the first time in history that Australia playing a bi lateral series of 3 or more matches that NOT ONE BATSMAN GOT A 50 !
Our 1-7 have averaged 16 for the series .
Thru first 12 overs not one over from Lance Morris ( why was he picked?)

There'd be uproar about these performances but nobody knows it's on and not many will be watching as none of the fixtures are on FTA.

Ridiculous; the only FTA cricket coverage today was a WBBL T20 match that finished before 5PM 🙄

They win by 8 wickets with 23 overs to spare to go with their win by 9 wickets with 24 overs to spare

Nov 2023 one of our proudest days beating the mighty India with Travis Head 137 to win the world cup for the 6th time
Nov 2024 one of our most humiliating days being totally thrashed as has never happened ever to such an extent
Andrew McDonald and the CA brainstrust you need to apologise to the fans
You better win the Border/ Gavaskar or as far as I'm concerned you should be gone !
