Queue not as bad today to yesterday when I drove past Parra centrelink this arvo

Poor bastards have probably given up queuing

Actually Hobs Centrelink ask people not to go to the offices but go online through mygov….it crashed yesterday ….I got to start my application, but it asked for my Customer Reference Number...it was the only thing I haven't got so it kicked me out..I rang the phone number but was told we are inundated with calls atm call back later...here it is later ...Im still in the same place I was yesterday and no better off..

I think you need to physically go in to get a CRN. I guess I'll find out soon enough too!

They changed it today so you could do it over the phone!

I tried that cochise, but they were overwhelmed with phone calls ...I will try again in the morning,if no success I will camp on their door until I get in or get an answer...I have no income,I got no answer from my super fund because they are inundated...next step I have just enough to buy a 1Ltr bottle of Wild Turkey and a carton of coke cans 4 packs of Winfield gold...and Im going to enjoy the conversations with myself...in case you don't know I think I have issues so Im gunna enjoy the ride..hahaha ..what else is there to do...talk to you lot?..I may as well buy a straight jacket and try and put myself in it..that will be fun..

Send an email via the contact information on the website and take a couple of screenshots to then send yourself. That way you will be able to receive payment backdated to this date. I am no expert, but had to deal with them last winter and it was like negotiating a minefield in my circumstances, but expect everything will go through unquestioned at this time.
I would suggest that you might want to put information such as your passport or birth certificate numbers, driver's licence state and number, Medicare card, plus banking BSB and Account numbers if there is an appropriate section.. That way they have all your details and hopefully will start a file for you.

If be very surprised if centrelink were that accommodating

Maybe, though I saw minister Anne Ruston fronting up for yesterday's liar and she said identity would only be checked on an honesty basis and no need to upload documents with a picture etcetera.

Quite odd considering their chasing people literally to death for false debts with the flawed Robodebt system for years, which was the brainchild of Scamo way back.

Yeah, I wasn't trying to disagree with you. I have researched the super payout stuff as I am going to have to access mine early too. Basically in mid April you will be able to apply on mygov for $10000 and then in July another $10000, you do not need to contact your super fund at all. The government info sheet can be found here.

Yeah... another CV thread.

But I thought we could use this thread to relate our own personal experiences through this. I don't think I knownanyone not affected.
Let's encourage each other... Share tips and ideas on how we ncan remain positive through this... I see my own moods fluctuating quite extremely.. It's been a hell of a week.
**Had a work colleague test positive, thankfully he's at another site and I've never met him but I was seated next to another guy at a WHS Meeting who works with the positive guy and who had been advised self isolate... That was worrying until he came back negative yesterday.**

My household will be discussing tonite what we'll do should one of us Contract this... We are all in high risk occupations I think.. Waste management me...two at the airport 😩 and two at hospital... I try to think positive but can help feeling like it's only a matter of time.

We were meant to fly out to Philippines on Monday... But now I've cancelled my 5 weeks off and will take 2 weeks only, been a nightmare trying to deal with airlines and resorts over there but slowly getting on top of it... Work often takes my mind off things that bother me but it's not the case with this as so many new protocols have come into play.
Stay safe friends.

Good news!

If anyone is interested as we enter winter:

**How do I get tested for COVID-19?**
*NSW Health is recommending people with acute, cold, flu-like symptoms who are returned travellers, or a contact of a confirmed case, be tested for COVID-19.

Samples for testing can be taken directly by GPs or at a range of private pathology sites across the state that are suitable for collection of COVID-19, or at public hospitals across NSW.

COVID-19/Flu clinics are being established within all local health districts across NSW to assess and diagnose patients with possible COVID-19 infections and other respiratory illness such as influenza as we approach the winter season.

NSW Health is also expanding the laboratory capacity across public hospitals and private laboratories to scale up the analytical testing to determine the results of those tests.

Currently, NSW Health laboratories have capacity to perform more than 1,000 tests a day at three public hospitals at Randwick, Westmead, and Liverpool, and they will soon be joined by four more hospitals: Royal North Shore, Royal Prince Alfred, John Hunter, and Nepean.

NSW Health has already engaged private pathology laboratories to assist in the collection of samples from people who require COVID-19 testing.

Testing is recommended for all returning overseas travellers who develop symptoms within 14 days of return, contacts of cases who develop symptoms, people admitted to hospital with severe respiratory infection irrespective of travel history, other special circumstances such as where there is an outbreak of respiratory infections without an identified cause such as flu.

This testing can take up to two days to complete and report back.*
