He has spent his whole life with those boys and coaches, let him do him.
He didn't put it all over his social media that he was in a riff jersey, if he did that then i'd be pissed.
Let the young guy celebrate ffs

Celebrate all he wants without their jersey.

Agree, and he can also stop blatantly flouting COVID restrictions while he is contracted to Wests Tigers.

I know he is young, but it's no excuse to act like an irresponsible moron.

Wonder what the COVID numbers will be like out in the Penrith district in a few days time, just hope this doesn't end up being a super spreader like it was in the land of Chairman Dan.

I live in Penrith, Sunday night was a joke.

Make him shave that dirty Moostash as punishment.

Then send him blindfolded into the forest behind Leichhardt for some bomb catching practice with Happy...

Yes my mistake - he didn't grow up there.

Doesn't change my mind that many of you are over-reacting massively and need to get some perspective.

FWIW, I dont blame him for celebrating and being happy that his mates won and were successful, but its incredibly disrespectful to publicly flaunt the jersy like that. More than that, its the unprofessionalism that worries me. This kid gets paid hundreds of thousands to represent WT and that doesnt register.

I get what many have said here that this is symptom of the lack of culture and respect in the club and thats hard to argue against, but for me more worrying is the lack of professionalism and understanding of what it means to be a professional footballer. IMO this is more likely a bigger impact on our performances. Add Tamou to that.

This pretty much hits the nail on the head. The club definitely isn't going to sack him over this, but it should also highlight to WT everything that is currently WRONG with WT, and that is there's no soul or pride in the club. Tamou and Dane should know better, but again, based on some of the actions taken by players at various clubs in recent days, I don't hold a lot of hope for the intellect and commonsense in some of these blokes.

At a bare minimum they owe the WT an apology - move on and learn from it - hopefully.

This has already been pulled apart pretty much and assessed from every angle and lots of talk here of how the club should deal with it (private/public/not at all). IMO it exposes the fact that we dont have that senior respected leader at the club that would get on the phone to Laurie and say "What the hell are you doing?".

Yes IMO Laurie should be spoken to strongly by the club but I think at a Storm/Rooster type set up Laurie would be more concerned about what some of his peers would think.

I thought Tamou was supposed to be that man but on the evidence he is more likely to pat Daine on the back.

No they owe the Wests Tigers fans an apology.

The club can get in line and then dish out the appropriate punishment.

I wonder if his Pamfers mates will congratulate him when he’s crowned Wests Tigers player of the year

Didn't get Rookie of the year.

Because Stefsno UTOIKAMANU deserved it..

It was very close in my opinion, I would have just had Laurie in front of him based on being at a higher level for most of the season. Though Stefs best was higher than Daine, just for a shorter period.

Hmm Laurie or Brooks to take out the big one gunna be interesting..

Correction..Laurie AND Brooks

Tamou sat down, thought about his post and clicked submit... Twice... While knowing the history between the club he (C)s and his former coach and knowing his current clubs fans and members would see this....

Laurie didn't know he'd be videoed... Stupid yeah but unintetional

Lets hope for a lot more thought going into his comments than he has shown in the past.A simple comment like "We will handle this internally" would be the ideal way to go imo.

I’m filthy I’m sorry and have lost all respect for him. Have never seen this before and it’s a huge slap in the face to all fans and members of the Wests Tigers. Yes ok he is a junior and has mates that are panthers fans you know what go and celebrate and congratulate them all but to wear the jersey and act like a fan boy I’m sorry that’s a sh!t take.

And also, not to excuse Laurie, cos it was indefensible, but he is just a kid. Tamou has played for NSW and Australia, won a premiership, is a club captain and in his 30’s. As if he didn’t know what he was doing, or at least think it could look poor.

People need to cut the swearing out - it's only going to result in your post being deleted. It's not that hard to follow the rules.

He's also getting a nice pay cheque from his new club too, so would it have been so hard to maybe send the boys a text or even call a few close ex team mates. It was poor taste from a guy who shouldve known better.

Not going to lie it isn’t the best look Daine should be pulled aside and had a word with about what’s expected of him outside of the club. Tamou on the other hand club captain played like a busted all year and posts what he posted on Instagram think that’s worse in a lot of ways as he is older and more experienced. Should play KOE cup for the rest of next season arguably should have played it for most of the season just gone.

This is not OK. I really like Laurie but he should be sacked for this.

How can we ever be taken seriously as a club if we cop the likes of this.

Imagine how it will be taken as a club if we sack a player for wearing a rival jersey that he played in 12 months ago.

We would be crucified

If you downvoted and disagree and think we should sack a top 3 Rookie this season for something like this, you are a deadset moron.

He is way out of line mate, he should not be in another clubs kit, sure frame it, have it on the wall at home, but to wear it out celebrating with Panthers fans, what a moron.

Well, honestly, what's the difference? If he's a mad Penrith fan at home, what's the point of being closeted about it in public?

All I really care is if Laurie plays good football and tries his best every week. There are certainly other players I can accuse of not putting in, but Laurie isn't one of them.

If anything, Laurie's reaction to the GF win shows Tigers what a winning club culture is truly like - that even ex-players are still happy that their old team-mates won; that the relationship of the club extends beyond the just the money and the contract. I could only wish Tigers got to a point where our roster was so solid that we had to let good players go, and those players were still emotionally tied to the club.

All that being said, didn't stop Laurie and Tamou being pretty stoked at being Penrith earlier in the year.

I don't know, of all the Tigers and world things to worry about, this one doesn't rate very highly to me. I'm sure the club will call him in and give him a clip over the ears.

No, it is a slap in the face to a fanbase that hasn't had their team in finals football for 10 years, a fanbase that hurts watching another finals series without their team. Show a bit of common sense and don't rub their faces in it.

I understand what you are saying and I agree it's a dumb decision. I think, however, of all the things Tigers have endured in 2021 and likely to endure in 2022, it ranks fairly lowly on the list of grievances. I mean people were already getting annoyed at Tamou congratulating his old team-mates on Twittergram, before any moustachioed Tigers fullbacks decided to do burnouts in St Clair in a Penrith jersey.

I won't deny anyone the right to get upset or annoyed over it, I just saw the video myself and... had no reaction. I didn't care as much as I expected to.

Well, there is 'our' captain...

Find me another club where the 'captain' so proudly celebrates the team who did not want him / coach who let him go winning.

It just kind of shows that a few of these blokes came to us solely, 100%, for money and extra years on contracts / their paths were blocked elsewhere.

Nothing wrong with that, but it also means you often sign players whose hearts are not in it at all with the new team (Tamou, Mybe, Packer).

In fairness aussie Jim was born and breed 100km up the road from where I am sitting. Yet he played for nsw and aussie. Don't think loyalty is much more than a word in the dictionary...

I've been to Palmy a few times for work. Very... flat.

what's new? and so what?

This really shows the dna of the club being full of people that don't give a shit and treat it as such.

What if Pascoe was still a Panthers fan? would it be ok for him to dress in brown and go hang out with the players?

He was amongst those boys not even a year ago so shoot for him supporting. The jersey is a bit OTT but it’s not worth this amount of carry on.

Yeah and you can blame that on this team having zero culture and identity for over a decade. Like I said earlier, ***we are in no position to scrutinise players for this because we haven’t earned anyone’s respect*** and rightfully so

NO worries, so I wont be expecting any more Brooks posts from you, or criticism of Tamou?

Haven’t criticised Tamou once mate so good luck finding that, you’ll have a better chance of winning an argument.

As for Brooks, read what you highlighted properly. I can criticise him all I bloody want for his dire performances and achieving nothing with the club in his long stint. He has absolutely nothing to do with what Laurie has done

![F9CA4F93-40D5-4BEC-9CCA-62AA6F5DFC4D.jpeg](/assets/uploads/files/1633412111168-f9ca4f93-40d5-4bec-9cca-62aa6f5dfc4d.jpeg)

Brooks and Nofo loyal mofo’s

Classic... what legends. Except, obviously, it actually sucked to lose those players and the ones we kept are loyal uncos.
