Fitzy played his last game for us on Saturday, and I've never been so gutted about a player leaving before. Last season he was just an average player, and for the first couple of months he was a lot of the fans scapegoat, and even missed out on the odd game or didnt play for much of a match, yet for the second half of this season, after it was too late to offer him another contract for quota reasons, he really came into his own.

He has honestly been one of our best players for the past few months, and you're lucky to have him back (if you do definately sign him).

Hes played at so many different positions, but his best recently has been hooker. Not got the greatest speed from the play the ball but I think Justin Morgan has really brought out the best in him. Also played at full back a few times when Briscoe was injured and has been a decent stand in. Cant believe how much he has improved, and wish there had been some way we could of kept him, if there was there was no way we would have released him!!

Just hope we can get him back in a couple of seasons when Ben Fisher etc. has left, if he'd come back.

Has anyone heard if Fitz has signed for Tigers yet? Would love him to get a one year deal there then come back to us :slight_smile:
Is it just something about him that makes people slag him off then? A load of Rovers fans were at it too, and now the full thread on our forum is them all taking it back and admitting theyre gutted hes going. Ill admit I thought he was poor at the beginning of the season, and was really annoyed when Morgan put him in at fullback, didnt think we had a chance!!

I haven't heard anything but I really hope we don't sign him up again.
He is a decent player, he would have a reasonably good game every now and then.
He played in the 05 team and had a good grand final which I am grateful for
but his time with the tigers has been IMO it would only be a step backwards resigning him
with so many juniors coming through.
 
Yeah, saw him a few times over internet and on dvds for you guys, in final etc and never thought he was anything amazing, still didnt for about a year here!! Hes just really picked it up, cant believe how much tbh

Know what you mean though, just heard a few things over here in past couple of weeks off a couple of our other players too thats he signing back for you
 
I'd imagine he'd turn out for Balmain in State Cup if he returns. The Tigers don't lack for outside backs at the moment.

Fitzy always had potential as a nine IMO. Nice passing game, clever kicking game especially short, and elusive outta dummy half. But im rapped in the nines we have. Carr, Politini, Makaui, Corby and Waters have all impressed me, so i dont want Fitzy standing in the way of any young guy's progress.

So u think he goes good ay Simon? I'd like to hear your opinion of him. The times ive seen him ive been impressed, but have to admit i really like the creative look of the two Islander hookers we have. Both seem very creative, while the like of Carr and Corby are more the knock em down drag em out type of hooker, tough no nonsense types. But thats pretty much an uneducated guess as i havent seen enough of all 4 to make a significant judgement.
 
He is very creative and has a great roll forward out of dummy half.

The lack of size in the BRET pack has made him develop a mongrel grind in his game which he has done to great effect.

That and Lewis is a very dominating playmaker.

Carr has a deft kicking game, a great pass and a good football brain
