Their juniors have been going well for years,
Maybe they're looking to invest in them finally and change the narrative?

Personally, I think they're looking to blow it all up - Lost a lot of blokes and Teddy is on the back end of it... They might be down for a year, But it's not for no reason
- They're too clever. It's planned, Fair chance they'll go whack, whack, whack at some point and really make some moves in the market.

That Toia is special.

Had a lot of bad luck last few years, Might be why they weren't to worried with replacing Suali?

Overview
Poorly handled by our club from the start with stupid contract and money
Great player .
Moving on now for 1 year seems weird he could have dug in but didn’t , hope he goes well as he always put in and had almost zero support from Steph and co , good get for the dragons .
Now who do we sign as we need
Prop , Centre , Backrower

I don’t understand that narrative ? The clause was agreed to by all parties , to allow the club an opportunity to get out of, because there were question marks around whether his performances were going to be good enough for a renewed 650k contract .
He was told early in the offseason that guys had gone past him in the pecking order , and his spot wasn’t guaranteed , to allow him time to make a decision about his future . He chose to leave , like most would .
Where’s the failure ?
We just saw a player get out of a contract he signed last year , to sign 150km up the road .
We ourselves lost a player just recently because of a stupid get out clause .
These things are in the contract for a reason .
The shit thing to do would be , to not let klemmer know , play him every second game , and watch his value tumble , where his only option would be SL come the end of the season .
Not giving a player what they want , is not mismanagement. It’s just bad news . It’s not different to someone telling you you’re redundant .

I don’t think that’s the case with the Klemmer.
He has been with us 6 months so is already paid half his yearly salary. Dragons have signed him for $300,000 for this year only. Tigers can’t be kicking anything for that deal.
Sure Flanno has picked up an experienced forward for $300,000.
We on the other hand have dropped that $300,000 from the second half of our cap and don’t have to pay the reported $600,000 next year.

The issue will be how we fill that roster spot IMO. Whilst I think it’s the right thing for the club to let him go , we clearly need a centre and an edge forward , which arnt currently in the club . Thats looking hopefully like Taylan May , and ___? . I guess we just have to be patient until about round 10 , when guys who thought they’d be starting in nrl , aren’t , and are looking for a new opportunity .
I saw Benji rejected Matto … I mean if he wasn’t such a cancer of a bloke that’s the kid of placeholder we need , someone who’s probably got 2 years left who can do enough to hold back Phoenix Godinet to allow him time to develop .
Because I think that edge will be taken by him come 2027 .

I don't understand the narrative either, especially how the club is at fault for letting him go. Part of it seems that people believe that if you're going to let someone go, you immediately would have a replacement to fill the role. I don't think the opportunities to fire and replace often line up, and not always lead to good replacements but people think they should.

Yea I agree . I get what people are concerned about though . At the very least he offered a safe middle, so we definitely have lost an old head in the squad . I thought the mention of Blake Lawrie as an end of the rotation middle / starter for NSW cup was a good idea . He’s an old head who’s relatively cheap , and can fill the void left by klemmer . But once again if he wants multiple years or a top 30 , that’s really stretching the friendship I think .
a middle rotation of May , pole , hunt , twal and Fainu , is fairly strong nrl prop rotation . Lots of variance as well . It just falls off real quick . Hopefully Kit and someone else can play well in reserve grade and put real pressure on the nrl team to drive standards .

Add May and we have one of the most competetive backlines in the comp.

Who are the guys that have gone past him , Sione please , Pole , Klemmer would be a safer defender than both these guys and probably Twal , he puts in for 80 minutes , club wanted out of the contract only , Klemmer would have been in the run on team if that clause was not in it , did you watch any games last year

Its funny that the same people who bellowed at everyone last year that the clauses Laui and Bula have dont mean anything and should be ignored are the same ones crowing now that Klemmers clause had to be nullified.
This was 100% about his money next year and not exploring new opportunities or whatever crap the club came up with.
Good luck to him. Hope he fits in over at Dragonland and keeps on trucking.
