Very disappointed in Nofa coming out and saying what he did , especially with what’s going on with JA. Negotiate with integrity and do it behind closed doors. Don’t come out and tell the whole world. You had an amazing year, but we still put up with you when your weren’t so good.

But Nofa did the exact same thing when he last was up for contract renewal, word for word just about.

So he has form. In light of the JA situation, it’s very poor form for nofa to come out publicly.

He also knocked back a large offer from Parra and waived the then 10 day cooling of period and signed on the dotted line when the rest of the rats were deserting the ship and the then Club captain telling players they should sign elsewhere..it is what it is..

Good on him. I’m talking about the current situation.

He doesn't have form. Tedesco, Matterson, Morrison and Teo are the types of guys who act like spoiled brats. I don't think Aloiai was as bad as those guys although he played it poorly.

I'm not going to put Nofo in that category.

Anybody who does is just a douché

Nofo dancing to his managers tune.

Sees someone like Cotric get offered $600k and others leave Wests Tigers for more money even though they were still under and agreed contract.

My view is still this ... Nofo has been here for a long time and we have never made the top eight.

If he leaves this weakens us?

not every club is going to come to many players and offer them the absolute max that they want to pay....if they can get their man for slightly less of course they're going to try.

Not every player is going to accept a club's first offer because they all think they are worth more and haggle as such. It would be remiss of them to not test the market if coming off contract. Of course they're going to bump their price up if they can.

These guys are in the game for a very short time and are entitled to do what’s necessary to squeeze top dollar. Nofo has been the sole of the club and has average talent but exceptional passion and drive. He must look around at Cleary’s contracts and even BJ’s contract and think where is my slice of the pie.

Anyway he deserves overs but not silly money. Just can’t ever stuff our cap again like Ivan the terrible did

I think you've answered your own question. If he leaves, it will cost us (perhaps) $600k to get a similar replacement. Given Nofo was a winger of the year it could be argued it may cost even more. Paying $600k for a winger will definitely weaken us.

Despite what some think, there is not a proliferation of quality wingers on the market and the ones available are costing more than Nofo. If we're trying to keep the cap in check we're better off keeping him.

We definitely shouldn't pay overs - nor offer too long a contract - but for the sake of $50k or whatever we'd be mad not to try and retain him. I doubt any other winger we could buy would bleed gold and black like Nofo and provide the stats he does.

Haha
I will guarantee you that we can have a winger play for us for well under $600k.

Some people.

If Nofa does decide to leave .. we have plenty left to replace him:

Asu Kepaoa
Paul Momirovski
Tommy Talau
Reece Hoffman
Wllien Kei
Zac Cini
Kane Bradley

Lol! When you said Momo! Lol! He does alright, but he's no winger with his speed. My nickname for him is Shell.

Nofo is the heart and soul of this club. This is not a black and white situation about whether he’s worth this or that.

If Nofo leaves it is an absolute travesty and a truly dark day for this club.

And for those people saying 500k is only reserved for elite wingers. Jesus Christ...HE IS AN ELITE WINGER!

He is without a doubt in the top 5 wingers in the game and last season was head and shoulders the best.

Yeah he scores a bunch of tries....but his dirty hit ups and kick returns are awesome...none of our other wingers or centres do what he does

it could be interesting to hear how much would people pay for Mansour? For mine Nofoaluma is the same type of player,
it could be as always 'the grass is greener ...'?

Nofa at age 26 probably has at least 3 top years left, I’d have him at 400K-425K over 3

Mansour at age 30 probably has one left maybe 2 max, I’d have him at 275K over 2

If he doesn't sign soon, then maybe we agree with him to swap to the storm for this year and get JAC.

I don't agree with that statement, sign or we'll ship you. Nofa has previously shown good faith in our club and to give him an ultimatum is very vindictive.

Sure, Melbourne asked for Nofa as replacement for JAC, but both contracts are only for 2021, after that they can hit the open market, if not be re-signed. It'll be a perfect world for the Tigers if we did do the swap, and 2022, Nofa came back & JAC was re-signed by us, but I'm not religious or believe in Santa.

Wingers are more important than centres these days..good one's are not a dime a dozen..the ability to finish TRIES and get sets off to a good start can't be undervalued..

Remember he was in reserve grand not that long ago and could not break back in but perservered and had a good season, not elite money in my eyes but 450 to 500 maybe

Honestly don't see what all the stress and fuss is about.

Imagine yourself in your current workplace earning say 400k/yr and the time comes to negotiate a new contract keeping in mind loyalty is a relative thing of the past by both employer and employee. Your current employer has a think about it and says they'll give you 450k for the next 3yrs. You have in back of your mind you really love where you work however you feel your possibly worth an upgrade so you put out the feelers to other similar workplaces nearby to gauge interest.

Place up the road says "Hey you know what, you go alright, here's 550k for the next 4yrs". Pretty damn good upgrade to do the same job you're already doing and decent length contract too. You go back to your current employer and say "Mate the lads up the road want to offer me 550k for 4yrs, is your offer final or you're willing to meet me half way?"

Now all this is hypothetical of course and figures in no way represent true amounts however you see where I'm going? Every employee is entitled to test their worth and would be silly to just take the first offer thrown at them when there's a possibility to earn much more for longer.

Some fans get upset and cry lack of loyalty however they are just like us all and trying to make a living and set themselves up for life. Mansour is a perfect example of a player who settled for less from his current employer only to later get burned for his loyalty so remember loyalty is a 2 way street.

Thank You!!! Could not have explained it better. Some people’s hearts think players are obligated to give their lives to a club. But there has been no ill will shown from either side in this negotiation. He’ll see out his contract, hasn’t asked or hinted at a release, was asked a question about his current contract situation & gave an honest answer. Where’s the problem???

As far as I'm concerned Mansour can see out his contract at the Panthers.

He adds a lot to the team. Let's hope we keep him.
