When we played parra this year,I thought he was acting strange after scoring a try.....Like
he didn't want to score against them....I thought something was up.....Now hearing this..
I'll go to parra....WTF who says that about that at this point...and why parra nofa?

You should see a doctor about your paranoia,i think you are reading far too much into the situation.

I'm fine.

Pretty sure there was a thread about it here too...

FYI I don't rate nofa as high as nofa does.....but I like him though..might go better elsewhere
or might get found out... I've said I want to see him at fullback for that reason..esp if he wants top $$

meanwhile in attack he was:

9th in run metres (3285m) - Mansour was 2nd with 3713 but played two more games
7th in Line breaks (19) - behind Sivo, b. morris, s.katoa, JAC, AJ & tedesco
4th in tackle breaks (112) - only ponga, cotric, and tedesco above him
4th in tries scored (17) - below crichton feldt and johnston
and 5th in amounts of runs (370)

So all you people talking stats and elite wingers etc etc... what more proof would you like?

Yep indeedy....... as with one of my posts in the Player Manager thread - this is one of the biggest problems with certain player/managers. Way too many players (and coaches) leading to artificial manipulation of player rosters etc for the financial benefit of the manager (and player).... really close to the definition of collusion I feel.... good luck NRL in trying to sort of this mess...

I’ve read some pretty ridiculous things on this forum and this is well up there

Go watch round 11.

Nobody desputes nofas ball running ability he is a stud but if he score 17 and had 20 try causes that is not a net gain.

In saying that if much prefer he stays as like mentioned alot of his defensive issues are exacerbated by what happens inside him.
Im just against over paying and I'm also against players and managements using the media against us.

our edge defence has long been an issue. the man who was tasked with sorting out our defence for the past few years has now left to join Voldemort and the death eaters. if Snoopy Collins can sort our issues out, who knows? maybe Nofo's defensive deficiencies will be sorted.

Good luck with that. Cream of the crop wingers would be lucky to get 500K.

Depends how the club value him, but I would seriously think that we would get nowhere near that given we have quite a few outside backs.

We won't get anywhere near that, it also needs to be remembered that he can only play wing as well.

Think we’d be be better of with Mansour better defender and save 100k minimum

How do we save a 100k, Nofa is eligible for the long serving player allowance

The long serving player allowance is only up to $200k for the club no matter how many players we have that qualify.

I don't think there are many people that rate Nofa as high as Nofa does.

Geez tough here.
I think he would be a loss and can’t see how we could get a better winger than him playing for us.

JAC isn’t coming, Mansour and Fergo aren’t better than him.

He is worth what people are willing to pay him.

I for one hope he stays.

Some clear agendas from a few posters on Nofa. Very predictable and disrespectful to our player of the year.

The good thing is regardless of the hate for him by a minority, Madge rates him very very highly and as others have mentioned our offer will be very competitive. If he leaves, it will be because some club has offered silly money.

If he wants a pay rise he has got to take his game to a new level and that means SOO. He had his best year in attack, his defence was poor. He didn't make it to SOO and from what I heard wasn't close.

Last year he took his game to a new level. I'm not going to pretend to know what he's currently on, but he's improved since he was last up for contract negotiations so it seems plausible he should get a pay rise.

Any winger would be ordinary in defence with the likes of Benji and Garner inside them.

You cannot blame the players around him for his poor reading of defensive situations particularly coming in and leaving his opponent unmarked when he needed to have confidence in his centre.

Yes I can. He shouldn't need to run in if he has confidence in his inside men. Clearly he didn't, and quite rightly because Benji in particular was a turnstyle.

When your numbered up correctly but he still insists on running in, it is a huge issue.

Back in 2017 people on here were blaming Moses and Naiqama, today it's Garner and Marshall. Doesn't matter who plays alongside him, it's their fault, never his. Even though he's the only constant..

finally some sense
its always someone else's fault never Nofo's

I actually thought he was on $450K. He was a massive beneficiary last time of getting overpaid due to a Parra bid. Sets someone up for disappointment this time around.

He was definitely paid overs at the time but in fairness he's probably played up to that value. We're carrying several other players who've played nowhere near their pay grade.

Agree with you, on 2020 form

Interesting segment on the radio today on SEN. Jimmy Smith was talking about the Nofa situation. He thought that the article stating he was worth $450k was strange because he claims to know for a fact that Nofa is on $450k in 2020 and is contracted for MORE in 2021.

He also quoted the stat that Nofa scored 17 tries this year but his “Try Causes” (tryes let in, no idea where he got this stat) was 25.

Jimmy Smith also made the connection that with the media noise around Nofa going to Parra and being replaced by Mansour. Nofa, Fergo and Mansour all have the same manager.

For mine Nofa is on the top end of money for his skills. I’d be happy for him to stay for the same money but not cent more. IMO offer him a 2y continuation or see ya later.

great post - I'll have to listen to that one.

It all stinks of a manager wanting his cut

He would have got that info from the guy who is his mate the statistician who now works for the tigers i dont remember his name he was previously with the storm and comes on SEN to discuss state of origin with Jimmy Smith

Does Brooks qualify for long service end of 2021 given he played 1 game in 2014

I think he already qualifies because it is actually the developed and veteran players allowance. Players that were developed by the club prior to their NRL debut, or have been in top 30 at the club for 8 years, or top 30 at any club for 10 years qualify.

Brooks will struggle to be at the club come 2022 if he does not step up ! There seems a definite push for success at the club I just get that feeling and the comfortable feeling Brooks seems to have could be coming to an end .

One game in 2013
All games in 2014

here is the correct round up

I reckon that stat seems like the kind of stat that if you got it from 5 different sources, you would get 5 different numbers.
