Wingers greatest strength is speed, this diminishes with age.A certain billiant winger has just joined a club on a 4 yr contact beginning in 2022.The winger will be 26 starting the contract and 30 on his final year. The fact is it is very rare to see a top class winger at at 30.The Morris bros. being the exception and on low salaries, Mansour is bad value.

Agreed. Story on Foxsports saying the dogs have gamble $4M on two wingers..... madness I tells ya.....

Hopefully Ivan taught Barrett how to rebuild.

Ivan didn't rebuild, Gus did.

They rebuilt after they sacked Ivan and he walked back into a loaded squad ready to go off.

Ivan was destroying our salary cap whilst said rebuild was taking place at penrith.

That should have been the 1st thing we hired Lee for ....finding a link to Iv and Penrith before the initial contact ...before those signings ...and I still maintain Iv knew he was going back ...just didn't want to be in charge of Nate while he was in his development stages at NRL level

We should have only released Ivan if he took either packer or Reynolds with him. He couldn't have argued against it, he was the one who signed them!

The "un-disclosed financial compensation " helped the clubs bottom line, but had a detrimental effect to the on field product. And that is the most important factor in running a club. On field success will take care of the bottom line.

Instead we have been hamstrung by Ivan's signings and he skips off to the best roster and junior nursery in the comp.

And I understand pascoe signed off on the contracts for Reynolds and packer, but in that situation, he really had to back his coach.

Yeah the whole scenario seems almost premeditated doesn’t it. Kneecap a rival team while secretly planning to go back to your old team, which is building itself into a real premiership threat, very nicely. Then I think to myself why spend your energies trying to derail a club like WT who are no real premiership threat in the first place? If he’d done it to Parramatta or the Roosters I could understand.

"Parra" and "premiership threat" is a contradiction of terms

Well maybe, but they did finish in the top 4, so way more of a threat to Penrith than we are.

That is true but they get the wooden spoon far more often than threaten for a title

I wonder what the hold up is? Nofa delayed re-signing in 2017 also. I doubt we’ll hear any news on this until March. Would have been interesting if JAC had signed.

So much for the POM’s post about a great Christmas signing of Nofa.

POMs info is good. Contract negotiations can be long and tedious. It’s not as simple as sorting out just $$$, I had a mate who was on a NRL contract (never played first grade) years ago and he had a hold up in contract signing over how much vitamins/supplements he got included.

One phone call to his manger from an outside source can change where we’re at with it. It’s not like everytime there’s a change Hartigan/Pascoe are saying ‘quick call THE POM and tell him what’s happened’

At the time we were likely closer to a premiership then parra. We lost teddy, Moses, and woods in the first month of his arrival, Of memory serves me well was Simona lost then too? We still came 9th... imagine if we had those guys and a coach that had our interests at heart.

(I know that the above is not a true recall of reality at the time, but I haven’t forgiven Ivan and if US politics has regrettably taught us anything it that facts do not matter if you shout your opinion loud enough.)

Braith should have had a better manager. Could have dictated the amount of tape and gatorade required to keep him happy.

Ch7 reporting Souffs have made an offer to Nofo Sunrise this morning

Just saw the same headline flash across the screen. I'll blow up if heads there, I have too many mates who are Souths supporters so I'll never hear the end of it if he does.

That will do me too, Noffa going to South's will do my head in. In the modern game which is so structured you need a couple of backs that are good at creating space so I feel JTJ and Noffa could do that brilliantly this year. I was anticipating AD throwing out balls, cuts outs and link with these guys. Please WT, get Noffa signed and get Daine Laurie here for this year.

This is all about using the fan base for his end nothing more ! Wingers are a dime a dozen hopefully the club will pay him what he is worth nothing more .

We missed JAC a state and international rep player and in the past we have lost teddy
We will survive if we lose David to souths
Do not pay overs
