Massive backflip off the high board…

Remains a Manly Sea-Eagle for LIFE....has a massive 8 man Presser on Fox Sports News...

What a Prima Dona....Embarrassing for Rugby League

We can not be too cruitical as Teddy backflipped on Canberra last year to our benefit.

Once Foran went and freed up money, then Manly signed Myles and Darcy, DCE was always going to stay and play with his mates for more money.

Blame the system that allows it not the players.

Good luck to him.

I was ecstatic when Teddy decided to stay with us, I'm sure Manly fans will be really happy as well.

Change your mind fine …Can't remember Teddy calling an 8 man presser....

I think this is very different to what Teddy did.
Tedesco back flipped a week later, DCE did it 3 months later.

During that 3 months the Titans let Seizer go to Canberra on the assumption DCE would be replacing him. They also missed out on other signings they could have made using the money they spent on DCE. And with only 1 week till the deadline it is unlikely the Titans will have enough time to lure Seizer back. Cherry-Evans has screwed the Titans over royally.

Take this as meaning that Toovey is now on the market.

Id make inquiries.

The rules allow for it and he's not the first player to have done this. I know he could have probably made the decision earlier before the Titans have decided to recruit. This probably exemplifies what is wrong with the current system.

At the end of the day the likes of Papalii, Tedesco and DCE have all done the same thing. If we're all going to play the "a man's word is his bond," card, they're all guilty of it irrespective of how long it's taken them to backflip out of their respective agreements. If Manly have given him a better deal and the rules allow him to remain with Manly, the game needs to make the changes to prevent this from happening which is currently being discussed. It's hard luck for the Titans and their fans, but the game allows as it currently stands.

We've just paid out a coach, we're broke as a joke and you want to turf another coach with two years to run?

I totally agree with this.. The situations are very different. Didn't DCE's manager also publicly shop him around prior to signing? The whole process was very long and drawn out.

So glad that we won't find out about the Tigers major signing(s) until after the expiration of the back flip option, then again going on the calibre of player we normally sign we may have wanted them to exercise the back flip option!!

would be a good pick up as an assistant or lower grade coach try get him for a steal, i mean not many clubs would want him as a FG coach after what happened at manly with all the players leaving. i dont think taylor needs the boot yet. the team is going playing like shit but he hasnt had a chance to sign the players he wants.

Just clarify for Cultured Bogan and Goldtiger.

I dont think we should sack Taylor. I like the idea of having Toovey at the club though.

Reserve grade, coaching co-coordinator you name it.

If down the track Taylor doesnt get the team to play like he has promised then we have a very decent in house back up.

As i said, id make inquiries, and im pretty sure he has a working relationship with Mayer.

Im quite happy that we have the right guy coaching here at the Tigers. Not a Toovey fan

Disagree mate, This would be a destabilising and expensive move

As Watto said, its another negative for the NRL. I know Smith and his team are looking at fixing the problem, but it should never have been able to happen in the first place. Just a bad look for the game

Ah, all good.

I understand now! Sorry mate, I thought you meant turf him (Taylor.) Still, Toovey wouldn't come cheap.

Exactly, fix the rules so it can't happen. Can argue how DCE's and Tedesco's circumstances "differ" until the cows come home at the end of the day we benefited from this and our fans were elated so it's a bit harsh pissing on another player for doing the same thing when he's done nothing wrong from a legal standpoint.
