Dene Halatau

Fulton & Taumata have never played hooker have they?

If Farah got hurt in game 1- wouldn't you want someone that has played 1st grade hooker to step in?

Fulton played a bit of hooker in lower grades…but hence the term 'lower grades'.

If us signing Halatau makes some people react this way, I suggest you seek help.

Yeah we should be happy we hold on to an over-paid, underperforming player.

My apologies

I hope that article is false. It's a total waste of money re-signing a player who has played maybe 6 good games since 2005.

Fortunately he's not guaranteed a start next week when he returns from injury.

Big League….V Sheens mind....

If we resign Dene 'Olsen' Halatau...God help me....

Sheens what the hell are you thinking.....Bug .....Where do I sign......

Do the NRL have a policy by where players are paid a minimum salary once they play rep footy? If so… what we sign him for will be a complete waste of ever valuable salary cap. Halatau's service from dummy half is pathetic... I'd rather see Payten played at hooker before Dene...

We'll resign Halatau and Fulton... both on contract far over their real worth... and let go of Galea and Payne.... These are the same decisions that have crippled us the past 3 yrs!

Well, put it this way- if the Tigers re-sign Halatau, it at least gives this board another target for it's inane, constant bleating other than Beau "I must be the crappiest player in the NRL according to this board" Ryan to direct it's vitriol towards.

Wouldn't want the board to get boring now….

Nothing ever seems to change in tigertown, Halatau probably a top bloke and if you had a first tier of 50 contracted players you would find him a place but we dont have that luxury. I hope the people who are calling the shots are not getting carried away with our last few weeks. We need some quality if we are going go further in 2010 and on our signing so far its all in reverse

Everywhere Halatau plays is well covered, and lets face it, the guy is a reserve grader. We have a heap of centres, heap of backrowers and have Farah, Waters and Carr at hooker, so its just a total waste of money, time and space to give this guy another contract.

Arggh! I can't cop this one, nope. He is dead weight, he should move on somewhere else, he has nothing to offer the club, nothing at all. He is an poor utility, yes he can play in a few positions, but none of them particularly well, that isn't good utility "value".

So next year we're going to have Fulton & Halatau on the books? Magnificent. The club has really outdone itself this time. Great bloke he is, but re-signing him is atrocious.

We let Morris go and keep Halatau
What the????????
Hope he is on a 20 cent game payment.
Dene - find your strength somewhere else.

yeah pretty sad isn't it. Morris tackles his heart out, chases the ball like a mongrel dog and Halatau, tries to break the line from dummy half each time he gets the ball, how one dimensional is this guy, would have trouble nowadays breaking wind let alone the line.

Halatau has been a great clubmen, seems a great bloke and has been a great player. In saying that, he shouldn't be resigned as his game has mellowed and looks like he needs a fresh start.

"… and has been a great player."

You must be joking! In my eyes, the great players have been Andrew Johns, Clive Churchill, Johnny Raper, Graeme Langlands, Mal Meninga, Wally Lewis,....... Do you really think Halatau ranks with these players?

The time has come........

Was thinking this morning… Remember when the news broke that Morris would resign and it was just a matter of sorting out the details...

If we don't hear anything in the next 3 weeks... I'd expect he's goneski :sunglasses:

Dene hasn't been in great form this year no denying. He has put in for this club in the past and If the club wants to keep him I have no problems. People whinge about how loyalty is dead and when a player who has played his whole first grade career with the club wants to stay people can't wait to kick him out the door. I
