Dene Halatau

Yeah I think he should be on his way…

But i'm still of the opinion that his best position is centre, always after 'filling in' at centre he ran much better lines when moved to backrow.

I think if someone bought him and put him at centre & left him there he would play really well.

No he wouldn't,he runs bad lines, can't catch, can't read the plays in defence and has almost no passing game,we have plenty of better centres already at the club, plus Daniela is coming.

Thats the sign of a guy who plays there minimally so it's no wonder he's never impressed there. I'll be blunt on this matter. I think Sheens has a lot to do with Dene's form not improving in the past 4 seasons. Has he stified Dene's career? Yes.

Halatau has the square peg that Sheens wanted to jam into his round hole.

Fact is, with a guy like Fulton playing lock, Halatau had to play in the centres- you can't have two forwards at 90kg & hope to make enough metres against the bigger teams.

Had Halatau been allowed to develop out wide, and had the Tigers forwards ever laid a big enough platform for the Tigers backs to capitalise on, we'd probably be praising Halatau's hard running.

Is this the same Dene Halatau who is a Kiwi international, by the way the Kiwis are currant world champs. Here is another example of a player that will come back and bit us later on if he signes for a NRL club. Not to put a too finer point on it the Kiwi team is not picked by Tim Sheens.

Halatau only gets picked now if Isaac Luke is unavailable. He was not even considered until Lukes suspension in the Anzac test

Playing multiple positions is no excuse for:

- Missing tackles
- Not being able to pass
- Running the ball when you have a five man overlap
- Being one-dimensional

I've blamed Sheens for plenty, but not for Halatau's form over the past four years. The only thing Sheens is guilty of is continually picking him in FG.

Personally thought that Dene always looked better at hooker, his running from dummy-half for the Kiwis made them easy metres, unfortunately there would not be much of a chance in that position even off the bench with Farah wanting the full 80\. It would be in his best interests IMO to start fresh elsewhere

Can anyone shed any light on Dene Halatau's contract situation.

And what's with this sudden injury?

Halatau spoke with Cuzzo on WTV…said his manager is in dicussions with the club at the moment...It was all in his hands but spoke of his love of the Tigers and all his good mates here....

He also said if he was on Farah's money he buy the house across the road from Leichhardt...so he could watch the Tigers from the roof in retirement...

Here's a link of the interview...http://bigpondvideo.com/NRL_Tigers/191551

You wouldn't need to be on Farah's money to buy that house….

I wouldn't mind if Halatau stayed on reduced money. If he played 20 minutes at the latter end of each half he would be quite damaging. I'm still of the belief that he peaked in '05.

No way…. that is basically what he is doing now...ain't seen no damage for 2.5 seasons now....Time to move on Dean....wish you all the best....Warriors would be a good fit for you.....or the Knights....

Here here. He's past his use by date at the Tigers and is merely making up the numbers these days. I'm more than happy to promote the youth at Halatau's expense.
