In last nights game how quick they made the tacklers get off the tackled players and how fast the play the balls were??….and the space this gave the dummy halves.

If they keep this up this will suit us down to the ground.....watch Robbie carve up!!

It will suit us in attack, but not in defence. We were punished heavily last year for not getting up quick enough - it's one of the most frustrating things to see as a fan. Hopefully Kidwell has improved our technique

Yep. Adam Blairs gonna end up deaf by season end with all the whistles blowing in his ear.

That's on the one hand - on the other, he's one of the quickest forwards back to his feet, so he'll earn us a few penalties as well I reckon.

Pretty hard to get out of dummy half when u have blokes laying all over the tackled player and offside markers all over u and funnily enough no penalty…...

If the refs keep this up he will go large!!!He must be licking his lips after last nights game.

Agree Alex
..trent Robinson said last nite after the game they had things to learn around the ruck….If they can go from a top defensive team to having nearly 30 put on them....then we might have some MORE work to do in D...The name will tell

both teams (especially chooks) were struggling with the pace imo. Fitness wise.

it's one of the reasons ive refrained from calling raiders in the bottom 4\. Ricky had the slim down around early jan 5-10kg each and presumably bulk up the majority of that. It'll make them a SLIGHTLY lighter but immensely fitter team and with the NRL seemingly trying to speed up the game through rules and maybe reffing, they could do well in spite of stuart.

agreed… We continually seem to go backwards in defence, and this is why players like Blair continually attempt to slow down the ruck.

We need to put some sting in our defence and put the opposition on there arses if we are any chance of slowing things down with these new rules.

FIRE UP TIGERS!!!

because of the speed of the game increasing?

the defensive team was struggling as the refs were favouring the attack in terms of ruck speed. and obviously the defensive team keeps changing….

Absolutely right KS. Farah has been very slow out of DH since 2009\. People kee blaming the rules but yet other hookers have still been effective in this area.

In recent most of Farah's good work has come from second phase play not out of dummy half.

Compare him To Isaac Luke or Matt Srama.

It's Chalk and Cheese Really. - Robbie has both those I've named covered in several other areas though.

Top post Watto! Blair isnt a mug, the guy is a soldier he knows what to do when he is told to, just not clever enough to be able to figure it out on the trot. It was why he fit the Storm system so well. Unfortunately for him he stands out like dogs nuts trying to slow it down because we arent proactive in the wrestle across the park. He is alot like Gibbs was for us, cost alot of penalties, but if you watch carefully, they were pushing the envelope when we were getting rolled, trying to buy a second too much. Plus its easier to penalise a struggling team. the refs should blow the whistle pretty much every time Friend or Maloney go to make a tackle, they are outright grubs everytime, up there with Ennis…. its the difference between being a winning team or being us at present.

Wont back the bloke for his pansy hand fighting and arm grabbing for a second though.

Yep. Im not saying he doesnt have his strengths but his dummy half play is no longer his strong point.
