Disguised swearing - No more please

An ongoing trend of late has been the use of disguised swearing by various members. Whilst I won't single specific individuals out, it has been on the increase this season to the point where members will now be warned if it continues.

As of this point moving forward, all disguised swearing is to cease immediately. If you refer to the form rules, you will see that disguised swearing is not permissible.

Posts containing disguised swearing will be deleted and if a specific member is identified in being persistent in the use of such language, they will be warned. For the record, if a member receives three warnings they will be banned.

This forum has always prided itself on being a forum where everyone is welcome to discuss all things Rugby League and the Wests Tigers. I don't think it is too difficult to ask people to post politely and intelligently. Whilst people get frustrated when the team loses, it's no excuse to start swearing and using abbreviated swearing, there are other places for that.

If anyone has any questions, please post them here, but I think this rule is pretty clear in its explanation.

is wtf disguised swearing? or words like "c*ap" ? not sure which, if wtf is you might want to remove :wtf

I think we can all read between the lines when someone is trying to say the rude word with those 3 letters .

happy tiger has his fantasy League thread which is : happy tiger WTF NRL Fantasy League
which is abbreviated to Wests Tigers Forum.

Surely we haven't become that precious on here :unamused: .

I think we can tell in someone's post when someone is trying to use foul mouth .

But obviously Willow , Kul and Mods determine what is appropiate.

'Happy Tiger, wtf' is probably something most of us post (or want to post) on just about a daily basis.

That icon has no been removed, thanks for pointing that one out.

Up to you and others in charge Willow, but unless it is consistent or aimed, a bit over the top in this day and age for mine. The now removed icon is a case in point, as it was no issue until now.

I think everyone should know their limits, saying "wtf" in the context of confusion isn't bad. But if you are aiming a swear word and abusing someone directly, regardless of it is a player, coach or fellow member that is going beyond your limits and disrespectful.

I don't swear, i hate people who swear, it is disgusting tbh, discussing a matter appropriately does not require any swearing what so ever, so i don't mind it being abolished completely but it is natural for people to say wtf or bs every now and then.

It will be consistent, the other moderators have been briefed on what is expected from here on in.

WTF

Acronym for well thats fair.

And deliberate and persistent abuse of the forum rep system is not fair when impartial posts are made - That marks your third and final warning.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when we previously had a rep system it was taken down for a similar reason, because a particular user (Alien) couldn't help themselves from abusing it….

I am asking that people refrain from doing that thanks Milky. It has been those sorts of abbreviations which have previously been allowed but has slowly evolved into other inappropriate abbreviations being used.

I swear frequently, but I don't have a problem expressing myself on here if the team wins or loses. If they lose and play poorly, I'm quite happy to say they sucked, or something along those lines, I don't why others have had difficulty and feel the need to swear but that's going to change. There are of course other forums for people to post on if they want to go nuts with the foul language, it just won't be here.
